I enrolled for the introductory package and never went back after the 1st class. The owner/instructor was at first nice, when she found out that I had almost 2 years experience at another area hot yoga studio, she acted in a demeaning way. "YOu know, that's not real Bikram yoga". She just an unwelcoming atmosphere.
The studio itself is very nice. It is a slight inconvenience to have the changing rooms separate from the toilets.
I have tried the intro package at many Portland area Bikram/hot yoga studios, and I have never encountered attitude like at this studio.
I suppose you should go and judge for yourself.

One of the best restaurants I've been in Portland! Expect to spend some extra money than usual for a dinner in this city but it surely worth it!
An very complete and well made wine list, really tasty food and a nice staff!
And it's also a very romantic atmosphere; I surely want to go there again to make sure of all my great first impressions but this first time was totally flawless.
It has surely has a contemporary accent but doesn?t lose the "real food" style.

10th Ave is in a class of its own. Hate the atmosphere of Bally's or 24Hr? Come here...seriously. I did the 24Hr thing and it failed me - unfriendly staff, prissy atmosphere, and not a single locker to rent to keep my stuff in.
I came to 10th Ave because I wanted to find a place that was smaller yet still had a breadth of equipment...and somewhere where I could keep my things in a locker overnight! It's a great atmosphere to work out in - no pretentiousness - just genuine people who are there to get their hearts beating a bit faster and to maybe shed a few pounds. Trainers are around all the time if you have a quick question...and they'll even say hi to you (even if they don't know you!)
This is the only place I've felt like I've been able to be 'myself' and workout. No guilty feelings for being overweight. Just a darn good gym.
Pros: Regular people, friendly staff, rentable lockers!
Cons: Trainer groups sometimes take up too much room

I have been lucky enough to attend some great New Years parties but, Champagne Ball is definetly the best I have been to. It is held at the downtown Portland Hilton Hotel so you can get a room and not have to worry about driving. The party scene is great and the people range from 21 to 75 which is really fun and gives a great atmosphere. If you want to get dressed up and dance the night away without being to crowded and waiting in line forever this is the place to be. The band in the main ballroom is awesome and there are other bands, kareoke and DJ suger to keep the party going. I brought friends and they said it was the best New Years they have ever had as well and will be back again this year. The staff is great and you will not get better party hats, great food and the best countdown and balloon drop that I have ever seen. I will definetly be there this year ready to party like it's 2007!
Pros: Good location, fun people, great food
Cons: None better than any other New Year's in Portland

This is not actually a thrift store, nor does it have thrift store prices but the vintage furniture is in great shape and still a lot cheaper than it would be new. They also tend to carry a lot of unusual items, so if you really want to create a unique home environment for less money this could be a good spot to add to your list. Like any used furniture store you never quite know what might be there.

I really love 220 Salon and the vibe that they have generated. Jodie is great and I love the work that she and the studio does. I have been going there for three years and I am very happy with my hair and the relationship I have developed with Jodie. I really have a lot of admiration and respect for her. That is what real stylist is!!

Pros: Great staff and owner
Cons: What are the drawbacks?

We sat upstairs with our children who are both toddlers. We were at a perfect table away from other patrons so that the children could be free to express themselves (be loud) without bothering others. We could look down on the restaurant from our table. It was busy and fun to watch people. I had the wedge salad with blue cheese dressing which was delicious and the roasted chicken which was also superb. The kids had pasta. The kitchen made them something specifically to their liking. It was a good night with the family and we had no complaints except for parking. We had to park a block away and walk. It wasn't pouring rain so that was fine. We'll be back in any case.
Pros: Wedge Salad
Cons: Parking
