My dad bought me my first AAA membership when I first started driving as a teenager. Over the past twenty years, I have maintained that membership. During that time, AAA has opened numerous keys locked in the car, brought me gas, fixed my battery and towed my car to the mechanic. I have also utilized their services for discounts on events, entertainment, museums and motels. I have been referred to a variety of great mechanics that are AAA certified and visited their tour office for free maps and travel advice. In these twenty years, I have only one complaint - sometimes it took as long as two hours for a tow truck to arrive. Overall, my experience has been positive, but honestly I have never used any other kind of service as a comparison. AAA is certainly well known and reliable, plus is carried with the individual so you can use it even when you’re with your friends. Definitely a great gift for a young person starting to drive.
