I joined the 24 hour fitness in downtown area. I was dissapointed to find out after I joined that not all 24 hour fitness locations are open 24 hours. You would think with a name like that they would be true to it. The locker room and pool was pretty trashey. If I was to join agagin I would join a newer location.

Rockwood Lanes is great time to be had by all young and old.
They offer lots of children's and adult bowling leagues and special nights like cosmic bowling with live music and glow in the dark pins. Bring the whole family for some fun time bowling.
They have a great snack bar with a nice menu of burgers, fries, hot dogs, chips, soda and more.
They also have a nice pro shop that caters to all your bowling needs.
The prices are great and the staff are very friendly. It is great family fun.

You never know what you will find at Andy and Bax! I've found old Vietnam-era sleeping bags, pieces off the USS Valdez, knives, raingear, halloween costumes, and even sleds at Andy and Bax. This is the liquidators of the PX as well as the Army Navy supplies. Like any other liquidator, you never know what you will find here. The difference is that most items have durability and portability in mind. Long before surivivalism became popular again I found wind-up radios here. Duck Boots? Here. Puddle jumpers for little boys and girls? Here. Rations? Here.
The downside to Andy and Bax is that it is organized like a field supplier at the end of a battle...very disorganized and full of dust. So, if you're asthmatic, you might want to purchase on of those gas masks first thing before you shimmy down to the basement.

My husband went here to receive his training and certification to become a scuba diver and he was thoroughly imprssed with the experience.
The instruction he received was great - the teacher was very easy to understand and went at a pace that worked for the class participants. They actually have their own pool on site that you can use for classes, as well as testing out some of the gear before you buy to be sure that you are getting what you want and need.
Their prices are quite reasonable and the staff is great - if you're looking for scuba classes or gear you should definitely look here!

The Collective is an excellent resource for any avid biker. My husband rides his bike frequently to work and recently had an accident. His bike was damaged so he went to the Collective for help. Even though he did the work himself, the tools and advice they offered were worth their weight in gold. He was able to get his bike back in top condition for significantly less money than a typical bike shop would charge.

Remember Home Alone 2 and the toy store that McCauley Caulkin's character broke into? Every time I go into Finnegans I think of that store.
Finnegans offers are really nice mix of intelligent toys, imagination toys, collector toys, and just plain silly fun.
Not a giant store like Schwartz in NYC, but a personable store where each little department has experts ranging from tea set experts to trains to wind up toys. It's refreshing these days to find store clerks so excited about their products that they know the companies, the history, and can compare all the pros and cons.
My favorite? The collection of child-friendly collectable tea sets. It brings out the little girl in me.
