This is such a clean, fun, community oriented place! Not only is Mt. Scott a water park for all ages, with two separate indoor pools and one outdoor pool/fountain, but they also offer a wide variety of other recreational activities that include but aren’t limited to a fitness room, basketball court, art room and skating rink. Mt. Scott also offers a ton of classes including all sorts of swim classes for babies, beginners, advanced, handicapped and therapy classes. They offer martial arts classes, craft classes, acting, music and more. They have great people, professional staff and affordable and accessible fun for all ages. Mt Scott’s outdoor fountain is free to everyone and throughout the summer is full of laughing, splashing children. The fountain is located in the center of the playground and from June to mid August the park hosts the Free Lunch Program http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/summer/about/index.html and also offers low cost crafts and games for children of all ages. The two indoor pools are huge! On one side is the kiddie pool with all kinds of whistles and bells, fountains and spouts and even a fun current channel. The other side is the deep end for the older kids and adults. They have a place for lap swimming, diving boards, water basketball and even a rope swing. They also have a huge whirlpool spa and a tall water slide for the older kids too. Although this serves the community where it’s located, there are nicer pools in Portland. This one is smaller than some of the others. It also seems like the chlorine is stronger in this one. I’ve only been swimming here once so maybe it was that particular day that it was more intense. This is a good place for kids to recreate.

Very pleasant and family-friendly place. Has a basketball court, gym, pool, skating, community center, and a weight room. You can reserve the meeting room that they have, or you can reserve the party room on weekends. Party room includes appliances such as a fridge and a microwave. Great place if you want to have fun and get some exercise, or just have a good time.

Not just your average pool experience! Mt. Scott has a newer swim house with two separate pools along with a large hot tub. One pool is the lap pool and the other is the play pool. The play pool offers a large water slide, whirlpool river, and a large water bucket apparatus. The energy in the pool during the summer or on the weekend can be a bit intense. The play pool has a ramp and is shallow down to about 12 inches. So splashing aside, it is great for the little ones. They have life vests available and other float toys. The swim lessons are reasonably priced, but sign up early for the summer ones.

The Mt. Scott Community Center Pool. Is a great place to take the family. The pool has recently been remodeled and looks a lot different than you might have remembered. They have two pools that are both in doors. One pool is a play pool with a slide, water toys, a current channel, and a whirlpool. They other pool is a lap pool. The pool offers swimming lessons for all ages staring at 6 months. They also offer water aerobics, open swim and family swim time.
