Get on the list and stay out of the way of the endless stream of traffic in these close quarters. Don’t venture too far though, because the irate hostess (I think there is only one and she is always irate), will probably accuse you of signing your name and then leaving. In all fairness it probably has happened. The food is amazing, and this tiny Sellwood hotspot is quickly becoming one of the most popular little sushi joints in town. Sit at the bar and watch a line of chefs slice and roll fresh fish all night. The portions are prolific and the prices can make the most frugal of fellas crack a grin and splurge on a tip. Try the eel. You will leave a better person.

This is hands down the best sushi in Portland, and I can guarantee that anyone who disagrees hasn't eaten here. It's not super cheap, but more than reasonably priced, considering that each roll is large enough to feed a small country. For freshness and flavor there just isn't anything that can compare, and the line outside is a testament to that. Don't come here on a weekend unless you don't mind waiting an hour and a half for a table; even on a weeknight you may have to wait 40 minutes. They don't take reservations. But it's worth it. So, so worth it. Just don't bring a date here, because you're guaranteed to end up with huge pieces of raw fish hanging out of your mouth, and no one finds that attractive.
