This one is hard to give a star rating, so take that with a grain of salt.
We needed a 24" double wall oven, and initially went to the showroom on 82nd, not realizing the hugely advertised warehouse sale was a bit down the road. The KitchenAid that we wanted was $2500, the best the saleswoman said she could do for us was $2200, way out of our budget. While there, we found out about the warehouse sale, and asked her about it; she said she'd already checked, and that the oven we wanted was not there, giving us the impression (I know, very subjective) that we'd be wasting our time going there. We told her we were going to go look anyway, and she seemed a bit bummed.
It was a madhouse at the sale, but my girlfriend immediately found the exact model we were looking for, priced at $900... Done! Checking out, we paid the $50 for home delivery. My back isn't always in the best shape, so we asked to make sure that meant they would deliver it INSIDE our house. After speaking with a manager, we were assured that that was in fact the case. A few days later, when the delivery arrived, the guys said that they were only to deliver to our driveway, and had we paid $100, they would've taken it inside. Not that big of a deal, but not what we were told, either.
Overall, a basically positive experience, but you have to be on your toes if you want to get a good deal, and there's a bit of slipperiness here and there.
A few days after delivery, we had a professional come to install, and after five hours (work had to be done on the wall opening and support), we were very disappointed to find that the oven didn't work at all. Wouldn't even light up the digital readouts. We called both Standard and KitchenAid, and being leary of Standard at this point, went with the KitchenAid repairman, who would be able to come by in five days. The most interesting info we got from the astonished KitchenAid rep was that the oven we had just purchased as brand-new on 10/3/09 was a 2003 model!
The repairman from A&E Factory Service was amazing, and he immediately ascertained that the oven was missing a much-needed transformer. Luckily for us, he had one on his truck, and after a quick install, the oven worked like a charm. He also let us know that even though it was almost 7 years old, it had never been used, and it was a great model as far as reliability, which was a big relief.
And so far, so good on the oven; would we have purchased it if it had a tag letting us know it was a 2003 model? I don't know, but probably not, and I still feel a little ripped off.

Our fridge was defective when it was delivered. It made horrible noises, they told me it was "normal". Yet they sent someone out to fix it. Hmm why would they fix a "normal" appliance? I felt they did not take me seriously, and they did not fix it. Its after 4 am, and the "normal" fridge woke me up. I was in the next room, sleeping next to a snoring husband (he won a snoring constest last year he is so loud) with ear plugs in, and it sounded like someone was breaking into my house. They are not a reputible company at all. They sell shoddy, broken appliances and think they can get away with it. Save your money, and save yourself time and frustration and shop ANYWHERE but this place! If it were possible to give a negative star rating, I would do it.
Pros: one customer service lady was nice
Cons: Delivered a defective fridge and lied about it.

I have purchased many items from Standard over the years and yes it has changed some, probably due to management changes or the owner not being involved enough, but I certainly think most of these reviews are over done. When I went in for a remodel and said I was a few months out I did not get the help that I thought I deserved. That being said, when I went in to purchase I was most certainly helped out and given a great deal. When I read that some one had to beg to purchase something I laugh. When the gay couple said they were ignored I laugh. The salepeople there do not make money if you do not buiy so please try to at least write the truth. I have to imagine that if you were rude when you were first asked for help I would ignore you as well. Get off your high horse and realize that your attitude problem when you first walked in is probably why you didnt get helped. Try to come down to earth next time and treat people as you would like to be treated.

I recently remodeled my kitchen with new appliances all bought from Standard TV & Appliance Beaverton. I did careful research for selecting each appliance. I was told by a salesman that the refrigerator's finish would match the finish on all the other appliances. WRONG! It doesn't. Unfortunately, I could not verify its match until the refrigerator was installed. Too bad I can't return it because once a special order appliance is installed it can NOT be returned. I also purchased a 5 year extended warranty. I'm still waiting for paperwork to show what is and what is not covered.
....Not too happy with the customer service at this store. Next time, I will be shopping elsewhere!

My wife and I recently purchased a washer/dryer at Standard in Beaverton, Oregon. The washer was delivered within 10 days, while the dryer took over three weeks. With a newborn at home and laundry stacking up we were forced to make over a dozen phone calls before we had any concrete information as to the delivery of the dryer. I eventually called the corporate buyer's boss and he took no action, except to call the salesman and apparently yell at him for trying to help a customer get information that the salesman could not provide.
We were warned before visiting Standard that they are only concerned with making a sale and that service was terrible - we should have listened. We will never make a purchase at Standard TV & Appliance again.
Don't make the same mistake we did- the service is the worst I have ever encountered.

If you need to get something repaired avoid Standard. Unless you don't mind vague time frames, if they are unsure if they have the part the day the repair is scheduled, having the service person bring a broken part, and a high price. This has happened twice so I will probably avoid Standard when I am looking for new appliances and not just ehrn I need something repaired.

wonderful new store. i havr never seen so many appliances set up and operating. they had chefs cooking and lots of samples while we shopped. we went in on a saturday so it was busy, but our salesman gave us enough time along with helping other people to make a good decision. we never felt pressured which was so nice compared to the other places we went, which were either very high pressure or ignored us completely. our salesman, ernie, narrowed all our choices down in a logical manner after asking many questions. this was better than trying to decide which of thousands of products were right for us. i will be back when i need more
Pros: choices,samples,knowledgeable salesman
Cons: almost too many choices

OK, I ordered a very expensive range in late march. First it was on back order for three weeks, then we set up a delivery date . On the appointed day I waited all day, only to finally get a call at 5: that my stove was not being delivered! I set up another date, take ANOTHER day off work to wait as they only deliver to my area mon. or wed. I wait. To my amazement I get a mid day call saying my stove is not on the delivery truck. this wednesday is supposed to be the magic day my stove arrives, and yes I will be taking a THIRD day off work to wait for it! It is now mid may.

At Standard TV and Appliance, each customer is greeted when they arrive at the store. The only time they would not be greeted is when all of the salespeople are busy with other customers. Our owner wants each customer to be welcomed into our stores. All of the salespeople work on commission and that is a big plus for you because they will work hard to make sure that you buy products that you will like. We want you to be happy because that is the only way you will come back to see us again. We have more repeat customers that new customers and that is because most of our customers like us and that is because we are very concerned about the customers we serve. Because we work on commission, we learn our products well and that is a benefit to you because we will not waste your time looking at every product we sell. We offer package discounts for multiple item purchases. When a customer is pleased with their purchase, (we get very few returns due to a customer not liking the products they purchase.) That is due to people helping you select and not pushing their house brand. We have the biggest selection of products for you to look at.
If it sounds like I might be a little biased, I admit it, my title is Sales Consultant and I work at the 82nd street store.
When people come in and just look at the products without talking to a salesperson, they are shorting themselves of the knowledge of experience. Standard has seasoned salespeople that will help you decide the right products to select.
We meet or beat any price, period!
I invite my friends and family to shop at Standard TV and Appliance, and would recommend this company over any big store in town.

We purchased our first appliance at the Woodstock Standard approximately 20 years ago. The services associates with this purchase was good. Two years ago we remodeled our kitchen and laundry rooms, with new appliances throughout. We purchased, with an extended warranty, all of the appliances from Standard. We have now waited for almost a month for our range to be repaired. We are told that the part came in incorrectly two times - after we made arrangements on three different occasions to be home during the scheduled repair period. I have been told that the Service Manager would call me on two separate occasions to discuss this matter. I have not been contacted. I was told this morning, that the part had just come in . . . and they could schedule the repair for next week. Not good enough, I said, they need to be here today or tomorrow. After being put on hold for several minutes, I was told that the repair would occur today between 3 and 5 . . . we'll see.
