Love working for this preschool! Happy team, wonderful management, good benefits. Once have my own child will send it to this preschool because love absolutely everything about it. First of all healthy food, lots of fun and creative activities. All teachers take part in making art schedule. I would really recommend this school for any parent that would like to see their kids happy and exited to go to school!

Our child has been attending Belmont Academy for over eight years. The experienced staff has always been great and very loving towards our child. The directors and teachers have always been very open and more than willing to communicate with the parents for any reason.
The thing we love the most about Belmont Academy is the sense of community amongst the children. They really care about each other and look out for each other. Our child has been lucky to have older kids be mentors to him, and in return, our child is very loving toward the kids younger than him.
All in all, we have been very satisfied with Belmont Academy and we definitely intend to keep our child with them until he can no longer go (6th grade). The folks at Belmont are really like family to us.
Pros: caring, experienced staff
Cons: before/after school program stops at sixth grade

I absolutely love this daycare. My son has been here since he was 15 months old and he loves his teachers. They are fair and treat each child as their own. The teachers have been here for many years, which is unheard of in many daycares. The indoor and outdoor play areas are safe and age-appropriate. Their pricing is very fair, considering what they offer. Their programs aren't as structured as Kindercare (or other similar facilities) but are more structured than many in-home providers.

Both of my kids have gone to Wee Works and we've loved every minute of it. The teachers are very attentive, warm and loving to the children. There are so many wonderful activities that the children do every day, including walks outside to "visit the trees" and the park, creative art stations, etc. The other day there was a robot building table! Never a bored moment at Wee Works. We have truly felt like family there and have nothing but positive things to say about it. If you get a spot at Wee Works grab it and don't look back... your children will thrive there.
Pros: Creative play-based learning, warm and enthusiastic teachers
Cons: None

Grandma’ place is designed similar to the concept of the name, a day care that you can drop your child off whenever for however long you need. A close friend of mine used their service for her job as she worked from home, but occasionally needed childcare for particular meetings. She found the place to be extremely convenient for her, but her children hated going. The prices are based on an hourly rate for this service and are definitely not cheap!

From the initial conversation with Ms. Harrison (the director) on the phone you can tell she geniunely loves and is passionate about what she does. Todays Little Scholars is a vibrant, fun, and safe place for kids while enriching them through learning toys and programs. Childcare, daycare services are flexible as well very reliable. I would say this childcare is one of the BEST in the Portland area!

My child is in 2 1/2 class. The best thing is that teacher is very very understanding about kid's behavior and always support with positive attitude. I saw children leaning with her, talk to her in cheerful way. Supporting staffs and other teachers also have positive attitude dealing with kids. This is the place I would recommend to anyone in need of day care. Thank you for such wonderful experience given to my child.

This review is something that I meant to do over a year ago when daughter first joined, and my feelings for this facility have not changed one bit since then. The teachers are all very accepting, experienced and intuitive to each child's needs. It is clean and organized yet still very welcoming and cozy. The projects are so creative and thoughtful, while learning about manners and good behavior are just as important. I am sure that most, if not all parents that have sent their children to Rose City Day Nursery would agree with me that it is a very well balanced and trust- worthy childcare facility.
Pros: experienced, creativite and consistent
Cons: none

this childcare center is actually one of the nicest acredited facilities in town. The late founder began it in her home, and it now has expanded to the Montissori school as well. Instead of being a center full of baby-sitters, it is an actual learning facility with a Kindergarten also. Unfortunately, you had better be well-off to afford tuition; it gets kind of high, especially if you have more than one child enrolled. Ages are 12 months to 5 years, healthy food served, and comprehensive curriculum.
PROS: Enriches children's young lives while in daycare
CONS: some employee turnover, high tuition rates

Pauline Carlson and her family, plus one full-time employee, run a nice in-home daycare for outer NE Portland families. My kids don't actually go there because she didn't have two open full-time spots, but I'd recommend it to anyone who lives nearby. It has all of the basics, and one huge advantage. They have a huge, three-story open room built off the back of the house that has tumbling mats, three different height balance beams, coated mirrors, and a bouncehouse for winter indoor activities. None of the other in-home centers I have visited had this much playspace inside for when it's too wet to play outside. They also have a good-sized backyard. My first complaint would be that the daycare is housed in their basement and they could have done a better job brightening things up so it doesn't feel so much like a utility room! My only other complaint is that they do not have a third official employee. The third spot is juggled, most likely with great skill, by her husband (who works nights) and 16-year-old son. They also have a homeschooled teenage daughter that's always around. That being said, their prices are a little better than many in-home centers that have half of the indoor space that they do. There is also a Mandarin language component to the preschool curriculum they use for the older kids.
