WW Karaoke Express was very efficient in quickly setting up a great for-hired karaoke experience. Everyone felt very comfortable with the "DJ" and the sound was terrific.
They might be particularly good for upcoming holiday parties because they can offer a wide variety of music and are just plain, personable folk.

This gallery showcases work of textile artists both in the design of cloth and the creations of one of a kind wearable art. They also display unique pieces of jewelry. Although I haven't been there for some time, I did enjoy this different approach to the art scene in Portland.

I love that this place has hours and schedules seven days a week. They also have begginers and preschool classes that are great for the energetic toddler. Mine just wants to run all day and we found that a creative outlet like this was a great place to use up some of that energy. It is nice because once they get rid of the energy they are generally better behaved at home. This place works well with the ADHD type child. Their classes are very reasonable compared to other local places. The instructors also offer tons of praise and encouragement.

I always appreciate a gallery like this one that has open spaces and excellent lighting to make looking at the art a pleasant experience. Their shows change monthly and feature individual artists. The staff is very knowledgeable since they are all artists themselves. The gallery is open seven days a week.

Twelveth Fret is where people who care about their fretted instruments take them.
Once upon a time, it was the only game in town. In my mind, it still is.
The artisans at Twelveth Fret care about my instruments almost as much as I do if not more. While they don't have huge stocks of accessories, they don't need to. They are about preserving the integrity of the sound, quality, and tenor of the instruments they make and service. They are also very upfront as well. I once took a mandolin to them that was beyond repair and they explained all the reasons that it was beyond restoration. I had taken the instrument somewhere else where they were willing to fix it for a pretty penny but, as confirmed by Twelveth Fret, it wouldn't have done any good for the sake of quality sound.

Trade up has instruments for people of all levels. I picked up a 1940's Havek violin here for $150 that was later appraised for much more.
They have both traditional string and electronic instruments as well as a wide variety of unusual instruments and percussion.
The staff is knowledgeable and yet is also willing to say when they don't know the answer or don't have expertise in an area...an trait I greatly appreciate in a business like this!
Trade up also has practice space for rent and is open 7 days per week.

These guys are so much fun! The are a blast to talk to and they know they're stuff. They are a little more expensive than a certain retail guitar store that will remain unnamed, but it's worth it to shop from them just because of their friendliness and knowledge of music and instraments. They also teach guitar lessons (the teachers are high quality as I have taken lessons here before). Go check them out, they are next to the Tigard Fred Meyer!

This small theater has hosted quiet a few great concerts. Its fun if the concerts arent too loud and roudy. It definitly makes for more of an intamite setting. They have a venua almost every night. The upstairs is for over 21 crowd so thats were the bar is and downstairs is open to every one.
