I am a stressed out person. I work hard, I play hard...but I don't make much money! My insurance won't cover luxuries such as massage for mental health or healing. East West College offers supervised student massages for $20.00. This is a deal that is not to be missed!!!
The students are closely supervised and because of the high level of supervision I believe that often I get better results than from a licensed practioner in some office who's more worried about getting paid than doing the job right.
This is also a good option if you are under the care of a doctor or physical therapist or chiropractor who recommends theraputic massage but your insurance won't cover it. You do not have to be low income here....this is equal opportunity!

I get all my stuff done here...hair, nails, facials, eyebrows...you name it...
I've had work done at other beauty schools with disasterous results...primarily because the was a lack of student supervision and because the students were allowed to be so distracte by television and personal lives that they were not concentrating on the processes they were supposed to be performing.
At this school, however, the attention is on the student's work and the client's satisfaction. The music is never distracting, there's never more than two students under the watchful eye of a supervisor, and clients are thoroughly questioned both by the student AND the supervisor before beginning.
The prices can't be beat either....and the owners are what I consider to be good community neighbors...they have been known to donate services to local women's programs and programs for job seekers.

I love this place! I'm a woman on the go and I don't have much time or money to take care of myself. Here waxes are just $8, cuts and colors, facials, manicures, ect. are cheap.
The name well reflects the nature of the students. The majority of students have come to this school from outside the country and have the respect for their patrons that many full-priced, full-service shops do not. I appreciate being called "Ms. Boyles" and pampered like I was Vera Katz (with a nicer personality, of course!). Unlike some of the schools, there is generally one instructor to every 2 or so students. Students are attentive only to their work. There's no chatter of dysfunctional boyfriends or who got drunk the night before. The music is soft and so are the lights.
When all is said and done, I feel great AND my wallet doesn't feel too much lighter!

I haven't had anything done to me here. However, at the insistence of my teenage daughter I trusted them with the hands of my most prized possessiong - my daughter. My daughter had her nails done here last week at just 10 bucks for a full set. Many of the beauty schools use ultra thin nails for their students but she came home with nicely done nails that were standard for any shop.
The staff were courteous, but very attentive to the task at hand and very well supervised. There's a few beauty schools I won't return to. This one I will trust my daughter to.
