The Galaxy has that feel like it built in the 70's. A great place to sip on a cocktail and pretty soon, it will be completely smoke free!

I went there for lunch, and found that the food was decent for americanized chinese food. The prices are fair for a ton of food. If you are looking for cost per quantity, this is the place. It looks as though it could be a pretty fun place to karaoke if you are into that sort of thing. I didn't give it a five because of the dive bar atmosphere it had, and it didn't give the impression that it was trying for a dive bar atmosphere as opposed to like the Sandy Hut or the Tillicum of old.

The drinks here are good and fun -- nothing terribly pretentious, but something for everyone; I order peach schnapps and tonic water here, and my partner ordered an appletini and a lemon drop, both of which I tried and found well-made. They're low on the alcohol, unless you ask for more -- this is a fun friendly hangout, not a pickup joint. One waitress seems unfriendly, but hasn't been rude. Perhaps she's just tired of being on her feet. The food, which I haven't tried, is standard diner-bar fare.
I came for karaoke, and it was great the first time, a weeknight -- the lines weren't too long, and the other singers were all having a lot of fun singing. The second time, it was Friday night, and the place was swamped. The singers weren't as interesting, and largely people were more drunk.
The song list is very good, and the DJ is a personable Pink Floyd fan. It's not too smoky, and there's a non-smoking area. I intend to come back on many future weeknights, and arrive before ten for shorter waits! (The singing starts at 9.)
