The Village Bookstore has a wonderful selection of books, including some really hard to find titles. They have an extensive inventory of titles, and the environment is really pleasant - perfect for browsing. The staff is pleasant and helpful - they know when to assist, and when to leave you on your own. Definitely recommended for book shopping!

Plaza Video is a great local video store, because they have a very good selection of new and older videos, and they also order multiple copies of new releases, so it is not as difficult to rent a new movie. They also have a very good reserve policy, and the childrens rentals are very cheap. The staff is always helpful with suggestions as well. A nice assortment of snacks for sale, as well as previously viewed movies, rounds out the experience.

The Village Bookstore is a great place to go when you're not sure what you're looking for. You can browse peacefully in their store until you find a book that you want. The staff is helpful if you want them to be, but know when to back off and let you browse. They also sell some wonderful cards in the store.

I love browsing through bookshops and love the fact that this smallish, independent shop has been able to withstand the assauklt of the Barnes and NObles and Borders of the world.
The original owner sold the shop about 2 years ago, but the new owners have successfully maintained the comfortable nature of the shop, includingthe small gift items (soaps, bath accessories) in the rear of the store.
The selection is very good and the proximity to the Jacob Burns Film Center draws a steady crowd.

Very slow turn around time for repairs. Does not accept responsibil;ity opr l;iabil;ity for items damaged during repairs.
Pros: carries antique and ouot-of-the ordinary jewelry

Tux Pro has a great selection of mens and little boys formal wear. The staff is very helpful - we had problems with the fit on one of the tuxedos at the last minute, and they were able to fit us with another tuxedo at the last minute. In addition, they were very patient with my little boy, as he was restless while being fitted. Their prices are very competitive, and the quality of their tuxes is very high. The tuxedos don't have that "well worn" look that so many places have. We were very pleased with this establishment.

The staff is very helpful to a novice who does not know how to download and crop pictures, as well as perform other enhancements. The picture development is very quick, and their prices are very reasonable. They also sell a good assortment of accessories for my digital camera. I recommend this store.
