We took our dog to our regular vet after she started developing tremors in her hind legs and whined and cried. He came in, looked at her, and then said, "well, I have bad news - it's distemper." When we asked what we could do, he said we would need to put her down. He did no tests at all.
On recommendation from our favorite vet tech ever, we took her to Dr. Hanks for a second opinion. I'm so glad we did. She did tests, and when the news wasn't good, she still said she wanted to try - because Gertie was alert, eating and going to the bathroom. When I did the big ugly cry at the news that it was viral, Dr. Hanks was tearing up right along with me. I knew I was leaving Gertie in the hands of someone who already loved her as much as we did.
That was last night. Today, we saw Gertie. She's so much better, and may get to come home tomorrow. Even if things still don't work out, I know that Dr. Hanks was rooting for her, and did everything she could.
We'll be bringing our other dog (and hopefully Gertie for many years to come) to Dr. Hanks now - even though live in north Dallas. I can't recommend her enough.

My work insurance was dropped while I was in my 7th month of pregnancy. I ended up having to get Medicaid, and Dr. Jibril (thankyou!!) was nice enough to take me in as a new patient. She was (like the other two reviews say) a very down-to-earth and matter-of-fact type of doctor, which is the best kind for me. It's true about waiting a line time, even for your scheduled appointment. But I've learned it's always a shorter wait if your appointment is in the morning. She was so great with the delivery; I was in "labor" for over 12 hours because she (and myself) wanted to wait for me to dialate enough to have a natural delivery. I'm so glad she made that decision to wait, otherwise I woud've had a c-section. Also, the Dr. told me she likes to plan the delivery, which means she probably tends to induce over letting it go until full-term. My baby had problems with not moving, as well as not much weight gain in the 8th month. The baby was 3 weeks early but in perfect health. I've had 3 other gynecologists (2 men, 1 woman), and Dr. Jibril is by far the best one!

A friend suggested I have my 3 year old checked for vision. Being that my DH and I both need corrective lenses (mine are particularly bad) I thought it was not such a bad idea. In case she needed help, better to identify it early, right?
PLUS, I just changed jobs and I'm losing my vision insurance. So I thought I might as well get her in now rather than later.
So I looked on the insurance company's website and found the one pediatric ophthamologist they'd cover. I was pleasantly surprised, when I told them I had a timing issue, they were good about working us in.
And the office is definitely kid-friendly - big play stuff in the middle of the waiting room, books and bead structures in the actual consultation room, and they use a TV to broadcast the pictures to identify for the kids.
We had Dr. Wang, and she was very nice and calm. Perfect for a 3 year old who's new to this whole examination thing.
The only thing my daughter did NOT like was the after-effects of the dilation. She got quite upset that her near vision was shot for a couple of hours.
All in all, well worth my time. Oh, and my daughter has perfect vision. :)

This was the practice I chose for the birth of my third child (my first in America) - they where wonderful, soe asy to talk to and very understanding of all of my concerns. They worked with us on billing issues before the birth and after the birth. The nurses are friendly and knowledgable. The offices are great although there is a bit of a waiting period for appointments. But overall i would not hesitate to refer them to anyone - greta place!

Dr. Castleberry was able to treat my son's complicated corneal disease and restore his eyesight with special contacts. A local doctor at Walmart referred my son to Dr. Castleberry and I was not dissapointed. The staff was friendly and filed my insurance before I left the office. The ladies in the optical department even made high powered eyeglasses that looked great.
Pros: Excellent Doctors, technology and staff
Cons: none

This is by far the best exam I've had. The Doctor is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated quality time explaining everything in detail, and the staff are great. They took care of all my insurance before they made my appointment so i know exactly what i was working with. Everybody there is super friendly, the ambiance is like a spa and they have a great frame selection. My wife and I purchased 4 pairs of glasses each. If you want to get quality service and products go to Focus Eye Care.
ANd for the person who gave the negetive review, it is absolutely NOT TRUE. We've been going here for years and they have never mis-informed us, in fact they tell us exactly what our insurance covers and they always get our pre authorization before we go to our appointment. I can't believe that someone would not know what their own insurance benefit is, sounds like a personal issue dude. You should do your own homework before you blame someone else.
Pros: FRIENDLY, HONEST, PROFESSIONAL
Cons: Non

The doctor takes all the credit for the professionalism that is on display. He is good at his work. He also sometimes works night shifts just for his patients convenience. He gives a good introduction of what the problem is and then only he operates on you. He also offers discounts to patients who carry reputed insurances.

My family has had the pleasure of a family eye exam with a doctor and staff that make you feel very important and explain in detail what you need and not what they can sell you. Your eyes are very important to the Doctor. He takes the time to explain everything he will do and listens when the patient has any concerns. All four of my family members had their own unique exam and time with the Doctor.
I highly recommend this Eye Clinic.
Pros: Open on Saturdays, plenty of parking, walk-in welcome
