My work insurance was dropped while I was in my 7th month of pregnancy. I ended up having to get Medicaid, and Dr. Jibril (thankyou!!) was nice enough to take me in as a new patient. She was (like the other two reviews say) a very down-to-earth and matter-of-fact type of doctor, which is the best kind for me. It's true about waiting a line time, even for your scheduled appointment. But I've learned it's always a shorter wait if your appointment is in the morning. She was so great with the delivery; I was in "labor" for over 12 hours because she (and myself) wanted to wait for me to dialate enough to have a natural delivery. I'm so glad she made that decision to wait, otherwise I woud've had a c-section. Also, the Dr. told me she likes to plan the delivery, which means she probably tends to induce over letting it go until full-term. My baby had problems with not moving, as well as not much weight gain in the 8th month. The baby was 3 weeks early but in perfect health. I've had 3 other gynecologists (2 men, 1 woman), and Dr. Jibril is by far the best one!

I have waited over an hour to get into my scheduled appointment w/ Dr. Jibril. If you can actually get some time w/ her she is nice. HOWEVER, if you ever need ANYTHING by phone, beware. This practice DOES NOT return phone calls, no matter how many times you leave a message. This is really disappointing as a patient. It seems that unless you are in the office as a paying customer, you are worthless. Also, if you actually do get someone on the phone.. when they say they will ask the dr and get back w/ you... they don't. EVER. And if you get blood work or anything done, which requires a return phone call w/ the results, they don't call back. I had normal bloodwork done, but we thought I potentially had diabetes. Well, it took me QUITE a while after the test to get them to respond to my multiple calls and give me my results. FRUSTRATING!!

I found Dr Jibril almost by accident - I was reading the Plano Profile and saw an ad, and thought I'd give her a try. Well, lucky me! I've been with her now for over 5 years, and I plan to stay with her until I don't need a doctor any more. She's delivered both my children and seen me through both pregnancies and a couple minor illnesses. Dr Jibril has a very no-nonsense, matter-of-fact demeanor, and that's incredibly reassuring to a pregnant woman. She's also not in a rush to judge or make snap prognoses, but takes the time to listen to your questions, fears, symptoms, etc, and make an informed decision from that. She doesn't immediately hand you a prescription, but is certainly willing to prescribe on an as-needed basis. She has an ultrasound machine in the office too, so the first pregnancy visit, you can probably get a look at the little blob. Dr Jibril delivers over 80 percent of her patients' babies herself, which says a lot about how much she makes herself available. When she is unable to deliver, she has several other women doctors with similar backgrounds and demeanors who cover for her. I have rarely had any appointments cancelled or significantly delayed due to her absence; the few times it did happen, I was kept in the loop and told not to come in until called, so I didn't waste my time driving over there. Nursing staff is currently Cindy & Jackie, both of whom are very pleasant and calm. They take the time to get to know their patients personally and are efficient at getting the necessary tasks done in as pleasant a manner as possible. Office manager is Sue, who is just fabulous. I don't think you can say enough good things about Sue.
