Just like any other salon, it depends on who you get and how much he/she likes the job...and of course, whether or not he/she is good at it. I've had the same stylist for a couple of cuts/styles there on 2 different occasions. The first time she cut my hair, I was speechless with joy and confidence, as the cut and highlights were perfect. The second time, she didn't remember me, didn't give much attention to my hair, and didn't do such a great job. In fact, the next couple of weeks or so, I was finding fly-away clumps of hair that were completely uneven from the rest of my hair; I actually had to cut them to even it out! So really, this isn't that upscale but to be quite honest with anyone who reads this, it's not at all a bad place. It's just that it's better than your dime store salon (e.g. better than the $7.95 places) and it's better than that guy you've been seeing for years who now puts chemicals in your hair and makes you sit with them until he's done with the client who was booked AFTER you... It's not the top-of-the-line salon with stylists who have been working for years and have had primo training on the latest and greatest hair styles. They're pretty young people who may have been to NY for a training session (if they're lucky) or may have been trained by someone else who's been there. So don't expect primo everything....it's a typical salon, but geared for the latest and greatest styles, not the Hollywood service. And for goodness sakes people, have a little grammar when you submit. Your writing skills are so poor, it gives me a stomach ache just reading what you've submitted!!! Good luck - you'll need every bit of it if you are trying to find a great hair style. My recommendation: ask every person you see (whose hair cut/color/style you admire) where and who they got it from. The place shouldn't matter: it's who the artist was!

I agree with the comment below, when I was in high school I had an appointment to get my hair done with a stylist in Dallas and I missed the appointment and she called and yelled at me becasue that was part of her station rent or a bill i just jipped her out of. The credit card thing is totally normal, MOST of the upscale salons in the area take credit cards while making an appoinment and they are alot more strict than FRINJ is. This is a wonderful salon and I think you people are coming in expecting the worst. Even on the website the menu prices say Starting at, i understand that and understand I may not be only paying $60 at at UPSCALE salon. If you have a problem with the slaon I suggest you go to little cheapy slaons and see if you get even NEAR the service or the ateetntion or even the haircut/highlight you wanted...I can bet youll be back to see them at FRINJ. I love the stylists their and I am there as they tell me every 6 - 8 weeks and my hair always looks fantastic!!! Thanks everyone at FRINJ...

now dont get me wrong i love the stylist i had at seventeen! casey is amazing and has done absolute wonders for my hair. my problem is everything else with the salon. the management and receptionists are terrible and very unaccomidating. my appointment was lost and the management was unwilling to accomidate me in the beginning. no one seemed to know what was going on. and the worst part is i had to wait 20 minutes for my appoinment because of a child's birhtday party that day. why would a salon put a birthday party on a saturday? it was terrible. if it were not for casey i would never return here.

I read your reviews and half of you sound like idiots. Obviously some of you may have been quoted a price or an estimate, but that was a QUOTED PRICE, not a SET price. If you are doing a chemical on your hair, in order to make it look good, you may have to get it toned, so wether or not the stylist is doing your hair or your daughter hairs, understand they only want what is best and looks great. And for you mothers who think your 12 and 13 year old daughters are too incompetant to make their own decisions, think again. Its their hair that they have to walk around with, not yours, and what do you expect when you take them to an upsacale salon in PLANO, that they are going to be cheap. NO you are being cheap and if you dont want real results, take yourselves elsewhere. And to explain the credit card for conformations, its to make sure you show up for your appointment, hairdressers have to make a living to and you should be charged if you dont show for your appointment. Stylist dont like flaky clients, and if you think you can spend the money then go, otherwise dont make the appointment, and dont waste their time.

My first experience here was at the hair salon. I was so pleased I had to come on here and write about it. Anyone who is not pleased with Seventeen has a negative attitude about life altogether. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I had a major hair correction on my color and cut. My colorist, Jennifer B. assured me she would help me in anyway she could to make me feel my best, and she did. I felt beautiful! Jennifer gave me the perfect finish to my hair. I felt so good about myself!! They definitley know what they are doing there. VERY WELL TRAINED!!!!!!! Thanks Seventeen!!
Pros: Very well trained, clean and fun
Cons: None at all

I recently had to call on Seventeen Salon for an emergency fix. I had a huge concert that very night, but the salon I just visited 24 hours ago- gave me the worst root-touch-up ever. My roots were very orange and copper when I left, not to mention I HAD POLKADOT SPOTS of brown all over my head. So, I called Seventeen, and they took me in an hour later. They served me wine and reassured me that my hair could be saved without more bleach. SIDNEY was my hairdresser, she was the best EVER!!! She called her friend, TONYA over to my chair to ask her advice! I was very impressed that she got a second opinion because I looked like a burned match stick. Those girls saved my hair, I will always be thankful. SIDNEY added some brown lowlights and a toner on my hair in the back/bottom. (My hair really needed to be toned down, the blonde was getting out of control.) My hair now looks like a $300 hair fix from California's finest salon, for an insanely low price. (very reasonable) I love it so much and I will never go to anyone ever again. (They even gave me a protein treatment for a great deal) Even the music was cool. There are computers set up for you to browse the internet for a hair idea, tables and chairs, great lighting, just plain awesome! Thanks Sidney and Tonya, I will see you soon!!
Pros: Wonderful Atmosphere and People, All Very Skilled
Cons: No Cons

I got my hair done two weeks ago by a stylist named Moos. I think I've found my new stylist! My hair has never looked better. The color is perfect and she made me laugh the whole time I was there. I had quite a bit done to my hair but it felt like I was only there a few minutes. I felt comfortable, the music was great and I will definitely be back.
Pros: Stylists, talent, music, atmosphere

First of all, negative reviews should be taken in context with all the facts. Did a customer insist on getting a hairstyle that went against the advice of the haristylist or looked better on the model in the magazine than on the customer? If so, that is not the stylist's fault--people sometimes wanna come in and look like a model but they don't have good hair or face shape to carry the style well. Also, if someone's hair is already chemically treated, the highlights may not come out as expected--again not always the stylist's fault. They can correct it but colored hair can react differently than expected.
Also keep in mind that usually reviews are written by angry people (often unjustifiably angry) who represent a small percentage of actual customers. I am a marketing exec, so I understand why reviews are often skewed toward negativity. That is why I wanted to give my opinion.
Jordan has been my stylist for years. She has never botched my style, has always warned me if I was asking for a style that may not come out on me the way it looked in the magazine, and always kept me entertained. She has so many repeat customers (which is a sign of her greatness) that appointments have to sometimes be made weeks in advance. I am happy to wait because I get so many compliments on my hair. In my line of business, great hair helps me get more clients and Jordan has always been amazing. I would never go to someone else.
I definitely recommend this salon. The stylists are young and stylish, the music is great, the pedicure area is comfortable and relaxing, and the people are friendly.
Pros: great stylist, great location, great atmosphere
Cons: none
