High Hill Ranch is for adults and children alike. They sell fresh produce (in season), have a permanent building with several different craft booths. During the fall season on the weekends there are many, many booths situated outside the craft building. They also have a fishing pond which is fun for kids. There is something for everyone at High Hill. I have made it a habit to go to High Hill Ranch first thing on our Apple Hill outing and go to their donut concession located in the produce barn and sample their Apple Fritters. The fritters are HUGE and very deliciousl By going there early, you can get them warm!!!! Going there early also guarantees that you will have a good parking spot,

This is a historic hotel that is in very good condition. The rooms are rather charming and exceptionally clean. The staff members are very accommodating. The hotel is in the middle of downtown Placerville so it is extremely convenient to shopping and restaurants. The rates are not inexpensive, but not too expensive considering the location. . I would rate this as a moderately priced hotel. This hotel truly is a gem.

I find this winery to have excellent wine. Although they are not in the Napa "wine country", Boeger wines are very good. I don't find the staff to be as friendly or helpful as some of the other wineries that I have been too.They seem a bit impatient with their customers. I really don't think I would go back based on this issue, but their wine is very good.

Luisa's has just reopened under new management. Having dined there a few months ago, and since the management and staff has changed, I am happy to report the food and service are excellent. My husband and I had dinner there last night for the second time since the change and loved it. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and relaxed. The food arrived on time, was hot and delicious. They have a great wine list. If you tried Luisa's before and were disappointed, please give them another chance. You won't be sorry!

We have stayed at this charming bed and breakfast several times. Are longest stay was for a week in July 2005. The innkeepers are wonderful and have loads of information about Placerville. They serve an excellent breakfast ( it was different each time) and are willing to assist with dinner reservations and activity suggestions. I would rate it a 10 but dont want everyone to show up so that Im unable to get a room!
Pros: great service, value and very nice innkeepers
Cons: Parking is not great
