This is really in the Fairport area rather than Pittsford. It is an upscale farm market, and a bit higher in price than some of the other farm markets around Rochester. I think it banks on its locale. While very attractive, I think there are better choices with more variety and better prices. It's convenient if you want to just run out for a few fresh produce items. It's certainly worth visiting in the fall when they build their teepees of cornstalks and have all the pumpkins displayed. It's an annual event to take children to so that they can go through the teepees and pick out their Halloween pumpkins.

This is a really high end plant store. They renovated and expanded a few years ago from an open plant shop to a full scale store. Whenever you want quality plants and some unusual garden items, this is the store for you. You will, however, find that they are a bit higher in price than some of the other nurseries and plant shops.

This wood shop specializes in exotic woods and tools for the wood worker. I don't think this is really a lumber store; it is more for the woodworking hobbyist or the cabinet maker. The woods are among the most beautiful I have seen, and can be purchased in various quantities. A woodworker is in paradise in this store.

Recovery Caboose has a wide variety of decorator and upholstery fabrics, as well as some new upholstered furniture and decorative accessories. The accessories are somewhat unique as I have not seen them in other shops. The fabric is discounted and runs the spectrum as far as pricing. You can also commission them to reupholster pieces of furniture. I used them many years ago and was pleased with the final product. They have sale priced and clearance fabrics in the back. You can pick up some real bargains if you find the right fabric.

Alan is my father's accountant, and he is extremely knowledgeable at what he does. The best part of the service he provides is that he is extremely accessible. Whenever my dad has a question about his finances that may affect tax issues, or just a question he might have in general about his finances, he can either call Alan, or in some cases he just sends him a text message on his cell phone. Alan will either respond with a prompt phone call or message back, depending on how in depth of an answer he feels the question might require. Highly recommended!

We hired Betacon Construction to install our mahagony deck, and they did a superb job. They also worked on our finished basement---again, they did a great job. They were here when they said they would be (even during a snow storm) and finished on time.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops. It's a cozy little shop where you can have a cup of excellent coffee with a pastry and relax in front of their fireplace, or you can buy the beans to take home. Since they moved the coffee roaster to another location, it certainly smells better.
