I have never been so impressed with an establishment!! When I called and made the reservation I was asked if there was a special event I replied yes! That it was my wife's birthda...

Mallorca was a disappointment. I recently moved to Pittsburgh and was excited to hear about this restaurant from my work colleagues. I lived in Europe for many years and perhaps...

Disappointed 6/27/2011

Good: Not much. I ate here several years ago and the food was excellant. Do not know what happened to this place. I cannot say Iliked anything that I would recommend this restaraunt to anyone at this time. Bad: The spanish sausage I got as an appetizer was overcooked, dry, The "mashed" potatoes were boxed. The zuchinni was overcooked, the cauliflower undercooked. The steak I ordered at medium well was at the very best medium rare. Raw meat as far as I was concerned and lacked any flavoring at all. The potatoe crisps or whatever they were lacked seasoning.. Improvements: The number of items on the menu is totally ridiculous. I have traveled the world and dined in some fine restaraunts. The waiter must have read off at least 20 specials for the evening. When I heard another waiter presenting the specialties for the evening to other diners some were completely new. NO RESTARAUNT can serve so many meals and maintain quality. I have no intentions of dining here again. The quality of the food I had does NOT warrant the price that I paid. more

Perhaps not worth the price, but great dessert and service... 8/6/2006

I went to Mallorca a few months ago with a large group that ordered a variety of dishes, so we got to try a lot of different things. While the portions were huge (my stuffed fish was four meals worth!), the main dishes were not well prepared. My fish was dry and so was my husband's pork. I did like the sangria (nice and fruity with plenty of kick), and the service was insanely good. Waiters were constantly hovering over our table and refreshing our drinks. If I were to ever go to Mallorca again, I would just order dessert. They had an almond version of tiramisu that was positively delicious. more

Fantastic Spanish Cuisine 3/15/2006

If you're looking for fabulous Spanish cuisine, look no farther than the famous Mallorca in Pittsburgh's South Side! The atmosphere is very formal and intimate, and you really feel like royalty during your meal. The sangria is to-die as are their many varieties of paella. If you leave hungry from this place, there's something seriously wrong with you. Their flan and rum cake are each the perfect ending to your meal, so save room for dessert! more

AWESOME! 9/2/2005

Best nice restaurant in Pgh. Easy location. Great food at a reasonable price. Don't miss the sangria! Yummy! more

Sizzling Spanish Cuisine 8/1/2005

I have been wanting to try this restaurant that my friends recommended, but I was nervous about liking Spanish food. I don't eat red meat or poultry, but an entire side of the menu was devoted to seafood. I had a hard time deciding between 4 dishes: everything sounded so good! My date got veal and said it was excellent. I ordered shrimp, but I wasn't expecting the huge plate that I got. I had to finish them for lunch the next day. The quantity and quality are worth the price. We split a pitcher of red sangria (they also offer white), which lived up to its reputation. more
