I certainly thought so since I'm going back for grad school. Carnegie Mellon offers a high class education at a high price. It's a great place to go if you know what you want to study, and have a sense of where you want to be in a few years. There are many research opportunities and great faculty. However, CMU is not the school for you if you plan on having an amazing social life or having an easy workload.

I've attended CMU for many years now, first as an undergraduate and now as a graduate student and I recommend it enthusiastically. The professors (at least in mechanical engineering and computer science) are great. The research is cutting edge. The only downside is the food on campus. Overall though it's a great university.
