My husband and I went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse last night for a dinner for 2. We had a very nice time. The waitstaff was excellent and made us feel welcomed. The salad was delicious. We both ordered the NY Strip Steak. My husband ordered it medium rare and mine was medium. They were cooked to perfection. The steaks were so huge we ended up asking if we could take it home. Instead of making a fuss, they did it so effortlessly which we appreciated. I think the wait staff was very pleasant and asked us how our meal was. I thought that was a nice touch to end the evening. By the way, the cheesecake dessert was a bit soggy for my tastes, but then again I don't have a sweet tooth. I would go back with friends.

I took my wife there for our anniversary. I brought about $100 with me to pay for dinner. We were told to share an side dish since they have large portions. We were immediately seated since I made reservations. I noticed the staff was young which kind of bothered me because this is a very upscale restaurant and I was hoping to have more experienced servers. We both ordered steak, a bottle of reasonably priced wine, an appetizer and a side dish. I could tell right away I would need plastic to pay for this meal. After the appetizer out steaks arrived on the famous hot plates. The steak wasn't memorable and for the price they charge it should have been. The side was really good and so was the wine. The staff was disappointing in the way they served, not attending to every need. At one point an older staff member had to pick up the slack for our waitress but at least she was able to help. We finished off with dessert and left. OK at best and not as great as the place is always touted to be. Haven't been back in 4 years and don't plan to go.

I was surprised at my first trip to Ruth's. The service was outstanding. We had the crab meat stuffed mushrooms which were great. We ordered filet mingnon's each..they were average definitely not worth the 32 dollars a piece. I enjoyed the yam casserole for my side dish, it was covered in crushed pecans and tasted like a dessert. But, for 160 including tip for two people it's a little much. Pros: Good Service, Nice Atmosphere Cons: Expensive

This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for my son and his girlfriend who came all the way from New York. Instead it was a disaster!! Two people ordered soup as a starter and two ordered salad. Salads arrived 20 minutes before the soup! Busboy kept reaching in front of one of us to fill all waters, even though there was ample space to walk around the table. Waiter never returned to pour the second round of wine or coffee (once he took our order, we hadly saw him all). Dessert arrived without even a birthday candle. I didn't expect that a $200 + dinner required us to bring our own. When I questioned this, the hostess admitted that they did have the notation of a birthday but no one made any attempt to even apologize. What a disappointment this was!!! Pros: Nice decor Cons: Awful service, Overpriced, No birthday candles
