Ellie carries nice batik skirts & tie-dye clothing for all ages & has some good sales mostly in the summer months. However, as the other reviewer pointed out, it's quite crowded & not very kid friendly. It's always really smoky at the entrance to the shop too, gross.

Now, this place is just plain weird. 1/3 of the store is given to a fantastic selection of specialty clothing - hemp, organic cotton, fairly traded products, basically hippie clothes. But to get there... you have to edge your way through narrow aisles packed with tacky tchotchkes and stinky incense. It's like night and day, the two halves of the store. That wouldn't be so bad, except there are signs *everywhere* admonishing you to supervise your children and keep their hands off of things. The problem is, you have to drag your kids through all that shiny enticing junk to get to the clothes. Even if you're wearing your toddler on your back, the stuff is all so close that they can reach out and grab or kick at things. I tried that once and gave up quickly. It is simply an impossible store to shop with young children, no matter what you do to keep them in check. Thankfully my kids are now a little older, so we're past that stage. But I tried shopping there a couple times when they were younger, and was highly frustrated.
Even without my kids present, I find the entire atmosphere to be oppressive and uncomfortable. But I'm willing to put up with it occasionally for the sake of the cool clothing selection.
