My husband and I had mixed experiences here. The food is always very good, but we had our worse service experience there once when an obnoxious waiter left us waiting for 45 minutes after we ordered and then brought our cold dinners only after we said something -- no apologies.

The owners have gone through some ups and downs since reforming after their fabulous Herb Garden restaurant, also in P-ville. Black Lab took awhile to find it's identity but I would say that it has redeemed itself over the past two years. The menu is diverse if not entirely original - and always has a great selection of specials.
BYOB - entrees in the $26. range.

The atmosphere is nice, but not worth my money.

This is one of our favorite date night restaurants. I have never had anything on the menu that I didn't absolutely love. The last time we were there my husband had a sesame seared tuna that was fabulous.
And save room please for the cinnamon bun ice cream sandwich. If you like dessert...this is one not to miss!
I think the prices are in line with the quality and the presentation of the food. The service has always been prompt and attentive.
Do be prepared to wait for a table if you head over during peak dinner hours.

When my husband and I lived in our first apartment together we discovered this gem of a breakfast in Phoenixville PA. Now that we live in the Lehigh Valley we still road trip for these fabulous meals. They offer interesting specials with unique fresh ingrediants. The restuarant is clean and the service is friendly. They offer Green Mountain coffee that is to die for!
