An excellent gated community in downtown Phoenix. Very safe, moderate rents and well equipped units. They have full sized washer and dryer, walk in closets and the appliances are all new and modern. The club house can be rented for parties and is very well maintained. The pool and the gym are nice and clean and the pathways between homes are also very maintained with lots of trees and benches. They have several outdoor grills that the residents can use

You can get fresh tortillas from here. They are made fresh in front of your eyes and packaged. I also love the different Mexican food and cakes that they have on sale. There is an eating place out and mexican music plays all day long on Sundays. It might be same other days of the week but I always go there on sundays. get my supplies of fresh produce and tortillas and then to have some yummy item at the restaurant

My Mother's Restaurant on 19th Ave and Indian School is the place to go. While the food doesn't quite fall into the soul food category, it is definitely home-cooking at its finest. This is a true “hole-in-the-wall” place, but it’s clean and inviting and the staff is very friendly. We went there for my husband’s birthday party and they were very accommodating, especially in bringing out a giant slice of pecan pie in lieu of birthday cake. We chowed down on country-fried steak, roast beef and veggies and had a great time. The dining room is decorated to actually feel like an old-fashioned dining room in your grandmother’s home. This was an A+ experience and the prices are very reasonable.

Whoever said you can't get SUPREMELY DAMN AWESOME ITALIAN FOOD in South Phoenix? .....Oh wait, I think it was me... Until I hit the Amano Bistro!
As a relatively new Phoenician, I am always on the look out for new eats, and was woefully unhappy when we moved from the North to Laveen. If you don't know where Laveen is, think south... very south.. with cows. Having to travel north/northeast just for good chow can get expensive, especially nowdays.
Enough about me, back to the Bistro:
Located in a place that seems more synonymous with low rent used tires and umm.. dirt, this restaurant was a wonderful surprise.
The staff of this family owned restaurant was friendly, prompt and very helpful. Everything on the menu looked wonderful. Even though it was a little on the small side, the eclectic decor, warm colors, laughter and the smells of the kitchen made it cozy.
And they don't gouge you!
Proscuitto linguini was $12, light pizzas (thin and crispy, just like I like em) were under $10, great wine selection!
Two people can get out of there with a bottle of wine and dessert for about $60. (What they'd almost charge you at the Applebee's down the road, without half as good food or service).
Take my advice, skip the chains-- head to the Amano Pizza Bistro. But go early, parking is somewhat limited.

I have a very sensitive skin and so am very cautious on using most of the new beauty products. But on trying their face wash and foundation, I really felt happy to have been introduced to them. I just have to call in when I need more and they even deliver free of cost within a certain mile radius :)

I love Fry's! Where else can you go to get your groceries, some new bedding and a present for your neice's birthday? Fry's! They have everything. The deli counter workers are especially friendly and will alway offer a sample of a new meat or cheese. As you're passing a Fry's employee, they will always greet you and ask if you need help finding anything. There are a few regular cashiers that get to know you, it makes you feel like you're in a small town, not Phoenix! I especially like the selection. And, they frequently put their housewares on clearance at the end of the season. I've purchased many toys, bedding, accessories for 75% off. Can't beat that!

I got a gift for this spa on my birthday from my husband. And I must admit it was the most refreshing and relaxing day I've had. Though their prices are a little high, but it is worth it. The fruit punches that they serve is great by themselves, other than the massages.

I live up in the foothills and when I went to Altadena, I often found myself wandering around the Foothills Park Plaza. Whether it's with money or without, you can always find something to do here. Mostly due to the Mcdonalds.....GAR, curse that evil corporation!!!
It's not the best place to hang out, but it's still a place to hangout. Especially if you don't have a ride and only a little bit of money. Bums rejoice!! Mcdonalds has free waters and kiddie cones. And pay phones. wahaha.
