This huge mansion was built for the owner of Wrigley gum a long long time ago and it has since been sold and is zoned to be part of the Biltmore. It is considered a "club" so you can pay a yearly membership and have access often. The inside is absolutely breath taking and the home itself is beautiful. You can eat there for a reasonable price, too and the food is really good. It was a really nice gesture for the current owner to allow access to all of Phoenix and this place is well worth a visit.

Here is yet another great attraction in Phoenix. This museum is always featuring some knock out art exhibit. From a fun fashion historical montage, to the controversial flag exhibit, to Monet, you will be wanting to visit more than once. I have been here several times, and always enjoyed the exhibits, both new and the “standards” that are home in Phoenix. The building is pretty interesting in itself. This place is not to be missed. For the moment though- be aware that the light rail is being constructed, so be patient if there is a little mess in the street.

Interactive exhibits encourage visitors to try out a telegraph, load a wagon for a cross country trek create a Victorian mansions, pump water and look into the life of a TB. They are open Tuesday through Sat 10 - 5. This is an excellent place to go and spend time during those hot summer days.

These ballgames are wonderful. The atmosphere is great. The Bank One Ballpark is located indoors in downtown Phoenix but getting there is quite simple, unlike other large cities. Parking is ample at only $5. The seating in the ballpark is good all the way around and there is hardly a poor view. The diversity of food is amazing. The air conditioning is great when you consider the desert heat. And the fans are loyal. Expect to seel lots of purple and gold.

I have had paintings framed at a lot of places over the years, but this man is an artist when it comes to show casing a piece of work!
Also Nick has a wonderful gallery with a wide selection of styles represented -from photography and sculpture to paintings. I especially loved the pastels by N. Phillips Watkins - what a range in style - from contemporay and abstract to realism and Southwest to black art too. Really a neat gallery. Scottsdale has nothing on this place!

Work of Artist’s is an incredible shopping experience. ( they are now located in Scottsdale at FLW and Scottsdale Rd., off the 101) Everything in the store is handcrafted by local artists. But this isn’t a giant flea market. The owner selects only the best of the best, and mixes it up into the perfect eclectic mix. I have been buying the handmade glass kaleidoscopes for the last few birthday parties I have been too. They were the talk of the party, and everyone else wanted one. The owner is polite and warm and is always accompanied by his trusty dog. The dog is behind the counter, but will pop his head up to look at you once in awhile. I love this store, and could easily buy everything in it, if I had the money and places to put it.

Desert Botancal Garden is a lovely and serene place to spend the afternoon. They have butterflies of every breed, but it is a bit warm since it's a tropical setting. They also have many of the valley's natural plants and flowers. If you're a tourist this is a wonderful place to find out what Phoenix's wild nature is like. I heard recently they had the corpse plant, which attracts many visitors worldwide.

I admit that I have lived here for over a decade, and still know little about the plantlife that is here. I live on a mountain preserve, and just recently have taken to learning the names of a few plants I have run across. If you need to find out info about plantlife here, the Garden is an excellent place to go. They have lots of information, and species to purchase for your desert oasis. Admittedtly, I have only been there once, and it was at night for their Luminarias presentation, it is a wonderful place to go. Luminarias is around the winter holidays and the park is alive with lights, music and hot cidar. I enjoyed it alot. I also enjoyed the gift store where all the goodies could be found. I keep meaning to go back in the daytime, but haven't gotten to it. But I will, and you should, many times during the year to see what is blooming. A great place to bring new desert folks to appreciate all that can really grow here.

Dodge Theater is a wonderful place to watch a concert or show. The acoustics are amazing, the seats are comfortable, and whether you sit on the floor or in the balcony there is always a good view of the stage.
This is an especially good theater for children's events, because the aisles are wide and easy to navigate with small kids. There are no steep stairs to climb and you can get past a whole row of people without everyone having to stand up. The lobby offers snacks and hot dogs and the usual souvenirs that go with any concert.
