Being new to Philly, I took a chance and went here because the only car I had wasn't functioning properly. They people here were very honest and up front and every since then, I have brought my car to this place. They are nice and most of all HONEST! As a woman I would feel comfortable going alone. I don't feel like they would take advantage of me because they do honest work. Highly recommended!!!

This string band is one of my favorites. There costumes are beyond beautiful and they put on a great show. They are very friendly, and talk with the people. They let my girlfriend and I on stage and we sang. They are a proud and ambitious group who take great pride in what they do. They are community people and play at retirement homes. Do not miss; you will enjoy.

Top notch school and they provide top notch eye care. for a place where students evaluate you first, you would hardly know that they are students. They are very educated and very professional. Very thorough and the best at what they do. My son goes here and loves it. I like the fact that he really likes his doctor and both he and she enjoy seeing one another.

Near the Philly Airport, it's a really high class club. They have more than just top of the line strippers - and believe me, they are the finest I've seen in the city, and know how to give a lap dance. They have four big screen TVs to watch the game or something on, they have cigars, and they have a full champagne top bar so you can really feel like you're high class. There's nothing more you could ask from this place (except for it to be free).

I have taken two classes at Project Basho and can't recommend it enough. Over the years, I've taken a number of photography classes at different schools and with different teachers, and Project Basho stands out. The dedication to photography at Project Basho is astounding.
Aside from the class experience, I loved working in the darkroom and participating in class events such as visiting the photographic archives at the Philadelphia Art Museum, going on class shoots, and seeing other students' work at an end-of-the-semester dinner. I believe the dedication and enthusiasm of the teacher helped to motivate the students to produce wonderful work. I also enjoyed getting to know different students through working at the darkroom and participating in class activities, and found that the place seems to attract great folks.
I am now living out of the area, but Project Basho is on my short list of reasons to return to the Philadelphia area!
Sincerely,
Lauren

Dirty Franks is the classic dive bar. With no windows and no signs, it is easy to miss this classic Philadelphia watering hole. Dirty Franks offers a great drink at an even better place. In addition, to your beverage of choice Dirty Franks has two of the most hopping dartboards. Dive bars do not come any better than this long time institution.

Just visited Naked Chocolate Cafe today, and all I have to say is yum! I never understood why Philadelphia doesn't have more coffee shops with desserts that stay open past 7PM even on weekends. This wonderful new cafe has great hours. They are open until 11:30PM on weekends and most of there delectable sweets feature chocolate. However, I did see some lemon bars and other types of cupcakes that would be fitting for the non-chocoholics. The cafe was quite popular this Friday evening, so I decided to take my dessert home. I bought a Walnut Nudos, which are very similar to these Volcano Chocolate Cakes that I've had before. I believe the people there considered them to be similar to little brownies, which were very moist and totally hit the spot. (If you take them home just microwave it for 10 secs the center will have a little chocolate ooze.) I would recommend this as a place to go with friends, a date or even your kids.

I've recently fallen in love with Middle Eastern cuisine, and this place always fits the bill for me. They have excellent portions and prices and variety, and their service is wonderful--never pushy or hovering.
What I love the most about the food is that you can tell it was made by a human on the day you're eating it. I've gone there and had hummus that was very garlicky (still good) and hummus that was very lemony (a little tart, but enjoyable) and hummus that was somewhere in the middle. To me, that's an excellent sign. I don't want a cookie cutter meal when I go out to eat. I like knowing that there was a person behind the meal, and if that person happened to like a little more garlic in the hummus, I'm happy to experience it that way.
Their salad is the best I've ever had, hands down. I don't know what kind of dressing they use or how they season the veg, but I adore it.
Definitely go here if you want a good, honest, Middle Eastern meal in an unhurried atmosphere that's convenient to everything in the heart of the Avenue of the Arts.

I'm not much of a pretzel fan, but this place has gotten me to buy one of theirs more than once. You can watch the people roll them out by hand and prepare them for baking, and when they're out of the over, you can watch the rest of the process. In a city notorious for soft pretzels (those sad little logs of dough that I just don't understand...), this place has my business.
But if you can only buy one thing when you stop here, get their ice cream. Ignore the salty, buttery, fresh-baked goodness of the pretzels, and give in to your inner ice cream fiend because this stuff is really worth it. I don't know if it's homemade like Bassetts down the aisle, but wow, I'd go to Fishers over Bassetts any time. All of the flavors are absolutely delicious, and they don't skimp on the ingredients in the ice cream either--you get lots of cookies or fudge swirls or whatever--and it's all soooooo creamy and divine. Skip the Ben & Jerry's and take home a pint of their butter brickle or their oreo cookie or whatever other flavor strikes your fancy. You will absolutely not regret it.
