Editorial review from Citysearch 7/24/2013

One of the best shops in Philly, regardless of what kind of body type or personality you are. I got an absolutely gorgeous prom dress here, and it was worth every penny. The owner is a genuine and knowledgeable woman who has enough experience to teach a class at F.I.T. on anything from life to,obviously, the basics of fashion. more

A lovely shopping experience. My new favorite Philly location. more

A True GEM 2/27/2012

So glad my girlfriends took me here for shopping in Philadelphia. Wonderful store with great items. I shop consignment all over the U.S. and this shop is one of the best. I bought a full length fur coat and 3 pair of Tods shoes. Could not believe the quality. The owner is very charming and knowledgable. Will go again next time I am in Philly! more

Classy little place 11/14/2011

This was my first visit to ""Immortal"" and I recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality shopping experience. Such style! The owner, who admits to having one hundred hats, shares her love of good clothing and offers lightly-worn fashions at a fair price. I found a very stylish jacket that's different from any I've ever seen. Unique capes, skirts, dresses and shoes and bags abound; if you are a fan of consignment shops and want something a cut above, head for this place! more

The real deal 11/14/2011

This is not a thrift shop, but a really elegant consignment shop. So if you're looking for dirt-cheap items, they're probably not here.\r \r Mostly all of the merchandise is designer and high end name brand. Also the owner is very observant about sizes and what is likely to fit. In most consignment shops, the staff is not trying to sell...so be prepared for that!\r more

A unique shop 11/12/2011

I wondering if cobbmc and I went to the same store-the merchandise is some of the best you willever encounter in a second hand store with fair prices for the labels-chanel, ferragamo, chico, this is not inexpensive merchandise but there are items for $20 -I thought he conversation with the charming and knowledgeable proprietor was a highlight of the experience-If I lived closer I'd be in this shop one a week-it is a treasure chest-I shop NYC thrift shops too-Immortal Uncommon is one of a kind more

tricky 10/3/2011

Becareful with the conversation. I was overcharged $18. Not very impressed with this shop. It is very cheesy! I like great conversation but I truly dislike being over charge. Just what you do and what you make to yourself because you will be overcharge. Quality of items suck. more

Philadelphia's Resale Heaven 8/13/2011

I've been living here for two years now and consider myself a resale ""connoisseur"". I stopped in to Immortal Uncommon Resale today and had a life-changing experience. Laugh if you want, but Caren, the owner, immediately made me feel welcome and engaged me in some of the most thoughtful and positive conversation I have had in years. Her personal attention to what I was looking for, my size, and how accommodating she was made me extremely comfortable. If you haven't stopped in, this shop is a MUST for all ages and people looking to find one of a kind treasures at prices that even a thrifty 28-year-old can afford! more

Best Vintage in Philadelphia 2/11/2011

Such an amazing shop - the owner, Caren is wonderful in every sense of the word.. she really takes the time to pick a great collection of vintage clothing and accessories for her store. Hands down, best vintage store in pa. more

Immortal Upscale Consignment a Gem! 12/6/2010

Fantastic Rare Find 10/6/2010

This shop is truly a treasure (as are the vintage leather top-handle purse and amazing pair of unworn Valentino heels I found). It's wonderful when a store is so selective and tasteful your arms aren't sore from sifting through racks in search of a good timeless item. This is a shop that is easy to navigate and never a waste of time, even if you leave empty handed. I found the owner Caren (sp?) to be a fascinating woman, possessing a meticulous sense of classic style and quality which she uses when choosing what pieces to sell. Her personality does reflect this, this is her passion and she is very particular, like an artist or chef might be. As a 20-something with a fondness for distinct classic clothing, I enjoyed her opinions. Definitely worth a visit! more

Half-way decent resale 6/26/2010

I am a huge thrift and second-hand shopper, making a point to visit as many as I can wherever I travel in the country. I visited Immortal for the first time today and my experience was mediocre. There was a decent selection...Not quite as good or as well-priced as Second Time Around. However, what really stood out to me was how unpleasant the owner is. She was haughty and condescending, saying right in front of me (a 22 year old girl) how young people today do not know fashion. She made SO MANY snooty remarks that I cannot even begin to share them here. I am hesitant to recommend this store to anyone or return to it myself due to her horrendously abrasive personality. Pros: Pretty good selection of vintage and designer pieces Cons: Extremely unpleasant owner more

Great place for classy vintage and resale! 4/17/2009

Each time I've shopped here, I've left with something beautiful and reasonably priced. If you're looking for quality vintage peices or classy clothes/accessories from modern brands (all at prices that won't scare you away), you should seek this shop out! Pros: Unique vintage finds, nice vintage and modern brands more

Great Shop 3/25/2009

I found this shop in a magazine that said it was a great store to find vintage and designer clothes at great prices. I went to check it out and the magazine was right. I found a pair of Stuart Weitzman black strappy sandals for $35. There were no signs of wear and were classic so it didn't scream what year they were made. The sandals would retail at about $250. Definitely a great deal. There was a wide selection of shoes, purses and clothes. Pros: great finds more

Good store 3/10/2009

Hi Pros: personal attention, small size, low prices Cons: small size, some stuff smells more

BEST found designer vintage shop in Philly! 12/23/2008

Let me say that I am the ultimate bargain hunter for designer brands. I've been to almost all the consignment and boutique vintage stores and never have I seen prices like this.\r First off, I really enjoyed meeting and talking to the owner. Caren is friendly, direct, and honest; she cares about you as a customer and works with you personally. Second, the store items are DIVINE. Vintage designer and modern designers in great quality for LOW prices. Now I love a good bargain, but Immortal's goodies are more like a steal if you know the designer. I recently feel in love with Chanel and found (among many other things) a two-piece wool suit for only $350. There's other designers like LV, Marc Jacobs, Billabas (vintage), and so much more. Shoes, purses , jewelry, accessories; you will find them here in big designer names and mind blowing prices. But stay away from the Chanel-they're mine! haha Just kidding. Happy Bargain Hunting all! Pros: Unbelievable prices, excellent customer service more

One of my favorites 10/28/2008

I read the mix of reviews and would like to say that consignment shopping is catch as catch can. Fortunately I have CAUGHT more than missed at Karen's unique consignment shop. I consignment shop around the country and know the difference between thrift and consignment. I've been traveling from the Washington D.C. metro area for 7 years and love climbing the steps to begin my treasure hunt. I continue to enjoy my vintage fur, cashmere TSE sweaters and shoes to die for. I consider the prices fare and Ms. Karen will always negotiate with her committed customers. Don't miss out on the experience by reading the few negative reviews. Immortal Uncommon Resale is uniquely Philly. Pros: something different Cons: climbing the steps (great exercise) more

a shopping haven! 8/11/2008

Immortal Uncommon Resale is one of the best consignment shops I have ever been to because there is a range of clothing styles as well as prices. There are a lot of designer items and the prices are set to reflect quality. Customer service is excellent and the glamour shots of famous actresses from the history of the silver screen add to the ambiance. Pros: ambience Cons: parking gargages are available more

Unlike any other vintage in Center City! 5/8/2008

Discovering this little treasure is like stumbling upon the Fountain of Youth! That is to say, Uncommon Immortal Resale feautures the best selection of vintage and modern fashion that is everything vintage should be: pristine, eclectic, and so much fun to comb through! From Fendi strappy sandals to vintage Annie Laurie purses, Hermes scarves and bakelite earrings---this store is well-edited through and through. Owner Caren knows her stuff too, and peppers her conversation with the expertise of a fashion musuem curator, constantly running to the back room to show you a new find. She even offers a $5 bin filled with shorts, mini skirts and tank tops that gives you the ability to stock up on a few necesesities alongside some serious fashion pieces. This is a fabulous store, devote an hour in your day and indulge yourself, you'll be amazed by what you find! Pros: Rare finds, unique selection and excellent customer service more

Woman there is a b*tch 4/9/2008

The woman at this store is a b*tch. Her junk clothes are worthless. The people who review this dump positively must have absolutely no sense of fashion or taste. The b*tch who works there acts as if she were selling haute couture, but she's not; she's peddling other people's garbage. Plus the name, ""Immortal Uncommon,"" is overly pretentious for a junk shop and is an overall stupid choice. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Cons: poor quality, ugly clothes. It's a thrift shop, but instead of benefitting charity, your giving your money to a total b*tch. more
