More
The Franklin Institute is a science museum in the Art Museum area that offers fun and education for the family. It has an Imax theater that shows nature films and offers a planetarium with revolving educational shows on the stars and planets. The highlights of the museum include a toy train driving around the atrium, a weather room that recreates weather phenomena, and a model of the human heart large enough to walk through. The museum sometimes sacrifices pure science for entertainment but kids will have a great time.

Don't shop there. They take your money or charge your credit card and say they will order a product, but they don't. They then try to steal your money. Check out the Better Business Bureau page on them. They lie, string you along for months but never get your order in ... because they haven't ordered it!

I found this place by accident one day while looking for another store. It's off the beaten path behind another shopping center, but still easy to get to. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection, and the accessories. Prices were high, but it's about average for this area. The help was ok, I think they were just busy and trying to get everyone taken care of promptly.

great place to take the kids on a nice day for a picnic. They have some well maintained tennis courts and a scenic pond where you can fish. Right next door is a golf course. Its located right next door to the sports stadiums. Its got great places for bbq or even to have a decent picni. The trick is to avoid this place during any sports games because it wil be crowded and no parking available.

There are two Pearl of Africa stores on South Street. They are both pretty tiny and the items in there kind of pricey. I do love the store, but there are never too many people there when I go. If you are looking for great African items, jewelry, drums, etcetera, this is the place for you if you are looking forward to seeing great African culture.

Thie Civil War Museum is a great place to go for a history lesson for yourself or for your kids. I have gone here a few times myself and have taken my kids here. They really like learning about what took place during the Civil War. Tickets to get in are very cheap. They run about five dollars for adults and two dollars for children under 12. Everyone should go at least once.

If you live in Philadelphia, you definitely know about the Mummers and their annual parade. I was curious to know how this tradition got started so I visited this museum. It has all the prize-winning costumes and many dazzling displays. They even teach you how to do the mummer's strut. It has a cute gift shop with lots of souvenirs. If you love the Mummer's and want to learn more about them, you have to visit this museum

I just returned from visiting PA and visiting this museum. I have to say that this museum is outstanding. The day was hot and muggy and I wasn't sure if it was worth it to make the trek to see this museum. Boy was I surprised! This museum is huge and offers lots of rare items to look at. It took nearly 2 hours to tour the whole museum!
This was my first visit but definitely not my last. Check it out whenever you're in the area.

This is a great place for anyone who is interested in running. Even if you're just starting out (like myself) and not doing marathons and 10Ks just yet, the selection of apparel and footwear here is top notch and the store is brand new and feels fresh. Once you come here, you'll never run in a cotton t-shirt from college ever again! They also carry an extensive selection of real running shoes, like Brooks, which are hard to find in other stores (forget Foot Locker!). Staff knows their stuff. They are also committed to connecting runners, there's a running club and it is a meeting place for runners on Thursdays.
