It's great to see freaks like me here. I'm going to donate my unusually large head to science here when I die for all to see. Cool place.

I am a surgical nurse, and while in Philly, I just had to go to the Mutter Museum. I found it interesting, although, I am sure it is more interesting to someone who has never had the opportunity to see different body parts. Great place, though, and very educational. But, you really need to get some new body parts. Believe me, fellows, there are plenty of gallbladders and appendix to replace the really old ones in your displays.
Pros: Very educational
Cons: Difficult to see through the old wavy glass at displays on bottom shelves.

A little known treasure. Fascinating in a bizarre way. Even tho children under 6 are admitted free, DO NOT TAKE THEM. Much as I like this place, I don't think I would take anybody under 13 - and only then, a teen with an interest in science and/or medicine. If you have those interests you will learn a great deal.

The Mutter Museum has got to be one of the weirdest museums that I've ever visited. There are lots of displays on various medical mishaps and anomalies. It is definately interesting and a good discussion starter if you're on a date. It is worth a visit I've you've never been there. It is located downtown, so parking may be a bit of a challenge though.

Usually museums are a good place to go on a date, but I don't think so about this one... unless you wanna take one of those gross guys that you're trying to scare off. This is a museum of oddities and just weird stuff. Really cool though if you ask me. You should definately go there at least once in your life.

This isn't a place for the squeamish, and probably not a good place to take a date (unless they're into that stuff, in which case, you've got another set of things to have a good long think about).... More
This isn't a place for the squeamish, and probably not a good place to take a date (unless they're into that stuff, in which case, you've got another set of things to have a good long think about). Full of medical oddities - the types of things you'd seein Ripley's - and a huge collection of freaks of nature, it's a good destination for some "ewww!"s and "cooool..."s. At eight bucks for an hour or two of things to look at, it's a better investment than most movies these days.

This museum showcases offbeat medical abnormalities... the strangest is probably a woman who was buried with certain chemicals that turned her into soap! It's very morbid and strange, and often controversial, such as skeletons of midgets, giants, and deformed individuals. It even had the brain of a serial killer on display, for some odd reason or another. The only way to sum it up is: odd.
