I just moved to Philly and called a few salons in the midst of a hair color disaster after picking up some Feria (liars) from Walgreens. My hair was a horrible black (the hardest color to get out) and I desperately just wanted to be a brunette again. The folks at DNA immediately handed the phone to Tim who talked me through it and told me to come in that afternoon for a consultation. I went in a few days later for the full color correction treatment and Tim gave me exactly what I was looking for. I'm back to being a brunette and he even gave me a conditioning treatment for free. The staff is excellent - friendly and professional. The price was way less than expected. But when it comes down to it - i feel amazing!! Tim and everyone at DNA did a fabulous job. Thank you to all of them. There is a reason they were chosen as the best in Philly by Elle Magazine!! Pros: great prices, friendly staff, free refreshments

Salon can often be off-putting for guys, but I highly recommend DNA. When I need to get a haircut on short notice and after work, DNA was the only place that was open and would squeeze me in. I was seen after a brief wait and the experience was great and not intimidating at all. I was offered some water or a glass of wine while I waited and the seating area was comfortable. Moving on to the cut, I came in with shaggy grown-out hair and no real idea what I wanted to do with it. The stylist, Mary Anne, was quite helpful in talking me through some options and the resultant cut looks great. To me, the price was fair $30. I will definitely be going back.

My experience is limited to two vastly spaced out visits with two different stylists, but I was quite happy on both occasions. Most recently I had an unexpected morning free and they were able to accommodate me on short notice, and were very understanding and not put out by the time constraints I had. The rest of the staff were all quite pleasant and attentive. Not to mention the great cut and color. Price wise, it's a little steep ($65 for the cut, $100 for the color) but worth it given the level of service.

DnA Salon has professional - well-educated hair stylists in the heart of Northern Liberties - Located right in Liberties Walk - the stylists provide great educational tips to clients teaching them how to make hair look its best. They offer wonderful hair and scalp treatments and the salon has one of the top colorists in Philadelphia: Tim Nork. The salon owners, Angi and Derek, hence the name DnA, are dedicated and welcoming to all clients that walk through the door - Angi and Derek are also very active members of the Northern Liberties neighborhood which adds to the culture and sophistication of the salon. As someone who has had my hair cut in some of the top-rated salons in New York and Chicago - I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the salon - Michelle

I called DNA Salon on Tuesday to schedule a first time appointment for an up-do this Saturday with Cassie. The person I spoke to said he would need to call me back. It is now Thursday and still no call back. I checked my voicemail and caller id and nothing says DNA Salon. I thought with all the good reviews on City Search, I'd give them a try since the salon I normally go to was booked. Good thing, I was able to schedule an appointment with another salon in the city. First impressions count and they failed in that department. I can't rate the salon on the way they do hair, so as far as customer service, I would have to say bad! very bad! Pros: None Cons: Customer Service

Is it so abnormal for clients to have different views on services? Does everyone going to a store have the same experience? Absolutely not! grow up and let people have there views without being a complete uptight ass and taking it like a personal attack. Its an opinion and im sure when this business went into business they knew that their mommy's werent going to be there all the time to publicly defend them. Not to mention it always looks like the business is writing their own positive reviews due to the crying in some of them.

I went today for the first time as a walk-on. I called them and left a message. Someone called me back in a few hours. I was going to fix a horrible cut I got someplace else. Everyone was so friendly and they did an awesome job on my hair. I also got a wonderful head massage during the shampoo/conditoner time. The salon is very clean and chic. The music wasn't so loud and I was able to carry on a conversation with the stylist. I absolutely loved them and would use them regularly again. Just keep in mind they are on the expensive side but it's worth every penny. Pros: Very good cut, easy to find off street parking, head massage!!!!!! Cons: a little bit on the expensive side but worth it
