Remember Empire Records?? Right off of 5th street and South, The Philadelphia Record Exchange buys, sells and... guess what... exchanges! Find cds, tapes, vinyl and more. Although they specialize in Jazz recordings you can find anything and everything in great condition. Used, New... it's guaranteed to be good.
This is my favorite music shop to visit on South Street. So much more personable than big-corporate-tower records.

The Philadelphia Record Exchange is a unique record store. At this shop, you can buy, sell, and trade LPs and even CDs. I never sold or traded any items there, but I’m sure it’ll be a breeze. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The store itself specializes in jazz, but also has many other records and CDs of different genres and ages. It’s walls, closets, and even basement is literally full of LPs. The Philadelphia Record Exchange is a great place to check out if you’re LP shopping.
