Please Touch Museum

I had gone to the museum before they moved to Fairmount park and liked it then. I love it now. My daughter is 3 and she has a blast everytime we go. The exhibits are perfect for her age group and there's so much for her to get involved with! more

The Please Touch Museum is a wonderful place to take your younger children. They have lots of different activities: Alice in Wonderland Tea Party, Supermarket area, water play, subway model, train table, art projects, reading area, barnyard babies, and much more. There are lots of activities for those with short attention spans. I would recommend purchasing a membership if you live in the area, which is a great value. It tends to get crowded, especially in the morning with all the fieldtrips, but quiets down after lunchtime. more

Not what I expected and not worth the admission price. Expensive for a family. Exhibits mainly geared for children 5 to 7 years old. Very little for small children to do. They were bored quickly. We left after an hour and were disappointed because we thought it would be an afternoon of fun. more

Please touch museum is a great place to take your kids. The kids are encouraged to play and touch with all the exhbits. i especially love the grocery store feature great way to tech your kids about the day to day real life events. also have an old subway car resored. the place does get a little busy on the weekends so be ready for that. more

the Please Touch Museum didn't live up to my expectations. I have friends who love this place so much that they bought memberships, so I guess I went in with high hopes. It didn't help that I went on the day after Thanksgiving when everyone and their kids were there. I found it small, crowded and without a lot of things my child enjoyed. What he did like: a real Septa bus and a toddler's garden area where they could pretend to pick vegetables and collect eggs. There were other exhibits that probably were neat on a less crowded day: an art area and a "" where kids could go shopping. On the day I was there, my child was too little to compete with the older children to do these activities. Maybe I'll try again someday. more

I took my kids here and this is the perfect run around touch everything type of place! It is supposed to be for kids up to 7, but my 8 year old wants to go back again. I loved it and I'm not a kid!! Just as it is named, kids can touch and play with everything in here. They also had a show and we watched that too. This is an unforgettable experience. My kids stayed here for HOURS and want to go back again. It is located downtown and you have to meter park. It is also NOT cheap. I would say moderately priced. I love this place. more

I brought my 2 1/2 year old daughter there this summer. I thought it was just ok. It is all on one floor and have some things like Alice and Wonderland, a Septa bus, Maurice Sendak exhibits for them to play on. The best was the little farm area they have for toddlers. They biggest part is the shopping cart. Kids can shop for food, put them in a cart and take them to a check out. The staff keeps returning the food to the shelves. When adults were told to help is when my daughter ran away. The staff was wonderful and had walkie talies to communicated. She was gone for 5 minutes and needless to say I was upset. They took me down separate steps to make it more provate I thought the whole experience was good for an hour or two. Not planning on going back. more

This place is so much fun! I even had fun. There is so much to see and do there. The little supermarket is adorable. The kids can get a shopping cart and go shopping and then have a buddy or their parent ring them up. They also have a Septa Bus there so that the kids can play Bus. They even have a section for littler kids which is a farm theme which is really adorable. There is a lot for them to do in there. A really adorable place. The only thing I don't like is the price and no parking lot. more

The Please Touch Museum is the kind of museum that kids of all ages want to visit - where they can touch, play, learn, and explore! The exhibits change frequently but they are always fascinating. You could find out what vibrations in your ear are like, or what it was like to sail across the Delaware River for the American Troops. Sometimes a day is not enough to spend here! But go, and encourage anyone that comes with you to let go of their reserve and TOUCH! For those who learn by hands-on, this is the best place for you! more

A fun and educational spot to visit for families with children primarily under age 8, the Please Touch Museum features three stories packed with activities for a variety of interests! Children can play on a realistic trolley, shop and check out in a pretend supermarket, dress up or take care of "babies" from a variety of cultures--the fun is limited only by the imagination! Admission is a bit pricier than other children's museums (almost $10), but well worth the visit! more

When you have kids and planning to visit Philadelphia, you should visit the Please Touch Museum. Unlike many other museum, where you are not encouraged to touch anything, this museum will allow your kids and even yourself to touch the items. It is a good place to visit and it right near the Franklin Institute. You can make a whole fun filled day by visiting both museum with the kids. more
