My favorite of the three Ritz theaters in Center City.
Has the widest selection of films (5), a great location, excellent soda, easy to get in and out of the theater and the building, close to a bus stop, and the bathrooms almost always have TP. The seats are wider and there’s more leg room than at the Bourse.
And the films, you can’t miss!

One of the three indipendent movie theaters in Center City, they're always better than regular movie theaters. They're cheaper (especially for students), have movies that require more than "oooh, look at the special effects," and have better snacks to munch on. While the theaters aren't as big or flashy and the seats don't all rock back and forth, it makes for a better overall moviegoing experience.

The Bridge ::cinema de lux::
They single-handedly brought a good film viewing experience for mainstream films back to Philadelphia.
A good art house experience was still possible, but it used to be a nightmare of talking and cellphones at most other theaters.
Th Bridge is always my first choice - there I know I can watch a film without needless, inconsiderate interruptions.

Fresh Grocer is located on 40th and Walnuts Streets across the street from the Bridge cinema. Since this supermarket is in the UPenn area, many of the customers are students. This supermarket has a big selection of prepared food, fresh pizzas and there is even a friendly staff making your salad. The prices are a bit higher than regular supermarkets, but there are also good bargains that would make a budget conscious customer smile. At 11 PM, many of the prepared food will be sold at a discount price, some will even line up to grab a few of the discounted food packages, which definitely beat eating tv dinners. The supermarket is clean and very bright. You can get free parking in the garage which is located on top of the supermarket.

This movie theater may only have six screes, but it is still very good. All the major movies are played at this stadium seating theater. The food is just like any other theater, good. When choosing theaters, Main Street will not dissapoint.I love this movie theater. At least, I did. It was very nice until people who realized it was nice, started going out of their way to go to this movie theater...now everyone goes and it;s not as nice anymore but better. Great Pretzels!

I tend to support local movie theaters. They tend to have a more personal feeling and give you a better movie-theater experience. Unfortunately, Cinemagic tends to be the exception. Their seats are usually broken, their food selection is poor, their screens are often scratched or out-of-focus, and the floor (ugh) is always sticky and dirty. Once, they even closed the entire four rows of one of their theaters because of flooding. In fact, one of my friends to this day swears he saw a mouse running through the aisle.
Aside from their poor condition, their customer service is terrible. More often than not, you will see a gigantic line of people waiting to go inside. This line is never regulated and tends to make the waiting area of the theater hot and stuffy. Their selection is limited as they only have three screens and the movies they show often are limited to black comedies.
Overall, this theater is a disgrace and should only be resorted to as the last possible alternative.

The United Artists Theater shows typical Hollywood blockbusters and at any given time has a wide selection. It is not however as new or nice as the Bridge on Walnut St. although its prices as similar. It lacks the bar/lounge area and the upscale snacks. It also tends to draw teenagers heavily to its movies so it is not the best place for a quiet night out or a family oriented night. Parking is plentiful but is under the freeway so can appear frightening at night.

We love this museum. Everything is hands on and you learn a ton while you have a great time. My sons love the replica of the heart that you can walk through!! We went into a great big maze the last time we were there too. There are always new things to try and the older exhibits are fun to try again and again!!

More
The Roxy is a small independent movie theater with 2 screens that generally show one mainstream movie (e.g. Harry Potter) with one indie or foreign film like Ma Mere. Two cute individual bathrooms and a tiny waiting area. Unfortunately, the manager, a man in his late 40s-50's can be really rude. Practically yelling at folks in line. I had a particularly bizarre experience where I had gone to the bathroom and he was trying to prevent me from returning to my seat to collect my belongings. The female staff are very pleasant. Offers traditional movie snacks--popcorn, candy, soft drinks etc. If the male manager took an anger management course, this could be a much nicer place to see a movie.
