Great ice cream and desserts. Good weekend brunch. Small seating area, and the wait might be long to get a table during their peak hours. You can walk in and get ice cream or dessert though. Right in the middle of the Gayborhood. Staff was nice, but not very efficient.

Man o man -- MTJIC makes a deep dish apple pie in a turkey roasting pan, it is 6 high of apples at least, very little crust, warm, cinnamony, can be breakfast or dinner, and definitely to share. The other baked goods are also out of this world. The pumpkin mousse pie at Thanksgiving is world class. But the PIE, sigh...

I love this place. They have amazing ice cream, you can taste every flavor before you decide and they will let you mix and match your cone or bowl. The birthday cake ice cream is a hands down winner.

Bredenbeck's is a bakery (specializing in cakes, tortes and French pastries) and is also an ice cream parlor (only open in the summer). All the sweets are made on the premises. I am a huge fan of their "Black Forest" cake - chocolate cake topped with black cherries and whipped cream. They also make beautiful birthday cakes and wedding cakes.

I haven't been to DQ since I was a baby. Well like...at least it's been a long time. They got the goods for sure. Get a vanilla sundae with wet nuts and pineapple omg like bbq. They have branched off into some actual food these days but I'd still go there just for a quick snack of some frozen treat. Well i would I was a baby anyway.

You can find great water ice at John's if you can find it. Despite being tucked away, its several blocks south of South St., the friendly service and great quality water ice is definitely worth it. It's not too sweet and the portions are enough to sastisfy people of any age.
Pros: inexpensive, friendly sevice, quality

Holy freakin monkeys, if you haven't eaten at Rita's Water Ice don't ever talk to me. CHERRY folks, and green apple too. It's so much better than icecream, milkshakes and banana sundays. I could eat a gallon every day in the summer time. You won't try a flavor that isn't amazing, and you can get a kids cup for a dollar. A buck! No excuses not to eat there everyday... Inf fact forget about all other kinds of food. Just eat Rita's.

I love to get the pints to take home with me. 32 flavors isn't enough if you ask me. You won't find a bad dessert in this place, it's all fantastic. If you eat there once you'll never be able to stop. In the summer there's nothing more refreshing that a icecream from Ben and Jerry's.
