I have lived in Philadelphia for almost ten years, so I've had the opportunity to go to most restaurants here, but this was one of the best meals I've had in Philadelphia or anywhere else! This is the only review I've ever been inspired to write. The food was amazing, the service was very friendly and down to earth and everyone I dined with agreed that it was a fantastic experience and that we would definitely go back- and I think we're looking forward to the next time already! We were there for restaurant week, which, at many restaurants means that it's a watered down experience and that you are rushed through your meal. Here, they treated us like royalty- they even gave me a complimentary specialty cocktail to celebrate my Birthday! They went out of their way to make our experience special- even giving one guest something that wasn't on the menu in order to satisfy special dietary needs! It is a very special place. Everything was impeccable- the service, food, and decor. The only thing lacking was the pretentiousness that is often associated with this caliber of restaurant- and we didn't miss that one bit! Anyone who is looking to have a special evening should try 10 Arts.
Pros: Fantastic food, service, and ambience
Cons: none

Its your average steak served on a good roll. What I like is that they make it when you order it. They dont cook up a bunch of meat at one time. Its hard to go wrong with a steak. Price is reasonable.

I've been here several times and have always been completely satisfied. The bartenders are fantastic and are exremely knowledgeable about the drinks--I reccommend trying the sake they often have themselves infused with fruit--quite tasty! As for the sushi--party in my mouth. Best I have ever had, and that's quite a bit for myself. All in all, I'd have to say that combined with the atmosphere and variety offered, this is not just my favorite sushi place, but my favorite restaurant/bar in the city!
Pros: menu tour-guides, variety of food/drink, great spot
Cons: can get rather busy

This stall in Reading Market is one of my standbys for Saturday lunch- I usually go for the Yucatan Pork Salad (ask for no chips- otherwise the chips take up hald the bowl) , and everything else I've had there has been tasty as well. Try any of the grilled steak or chicken dishes- you can watch them grill it fresh for your meal.
Pros: tasty and fresh food prepared for your order
Cons: it's a food stall- don't expect ambience!

Forget the nachos and try the platter specials at lunch. They are inexpensive, filling and unlike any mexican food I have ever had in a U.S. restaurant.
Share a table with a stranger - who said Philly people are grumpy.
Pros: Imaginative food, inexpensive
Cons: Saturday's are a zoo

This place used to be a dump until Matt transformed the place. You can get a slice of pizza and much more in the center of Philadelphia's Gayborhood. It is what it is, a slice or a pie to go.

Ernesto's is just up the street from the new Kimmel Center of Performing Arts & is a perfect choice on a concert night. A renovated brownstone, the interior architectural details are lovely with its high ceilings, hardwood floors, fireplace.
All four of us opted for salad appetizers, each ordering a different kind and each one of us enjoyed our choice.
It wasn't an evening for individuality as three of us had as our entree the vegetable napoleon. It consisted of fried eggplant, tomato, zucchini, lentil polenta, parmesan cheese & perhaps something else, resting on a bed of pureed red peppers. This was utterly delicious! The fourth in our party had baked chicken breast with mashed potatoes. It may not have been an out of the ordinary choice, but I noticed that he finished it off quickly, leaving not a trace on the plate.
We were stuffed & decided not to have dessert or coffee. Besides, the concert was beginning in 15 min. They also will allow you to return after a concert for your dessert and coffee.
We have returned to Ernesto's many times since this first review and never have we been disappointed.
