New China Court claims to have the lowest prices in town, and I think they do. They should also claim to have the best tasting Chinese food in town because they definetly do! They have lunch specials, combination platters and lots of other great dishes. They usually have a pot of hot tea on the counter you can help yourself to. They are family owned and are very nice.

The hamburgers at Longhorn are the best tasting burgers I have tasted in a very long time. They are cooked to perfection every time you are asked how you like them cooked. The service is very quick and the waitresses/waiters are very friendly and outgoing. They are always checking to make sure everything is just right. The burgers aren't the only good thing to eat there either. They have steak, chicken, and seafood. A good many choices to choose from. There fried cheesecake is to die for. It melts in your mouth. Everytime I go there I have an enjoyable meal there.

This store is a baker's paradise. At Christmastime, I visit for all of the nuts and fruits I need for my Christmas cookies and cakes. I also enjoy visiting to pick up snack and gift items throughout the year. It smells so good inside, you'll be tempted to purchase much more than you really need. My advice... Go right ahead! You only live once and the product they sell will make you very very happy!

More
Unfortunately, in most social settings, the sole purpose of alcohol - and alcoholic drinks - is to serve as a social lubricant. In certain types of bars, for example, it really doesn't matter what is being served on tap, so long as it is
a) cheap.
b) doesn't taste too much like recycled bodily fluids.
c) gets everyone reasonably smashed and hence amusing.
Tria more or less inverts this philsophy; at Tria, the entire point is to try interesting and well-made beers and wines from a variety of foreign and domestic producers. This is supplemented by the third fermented product - cheese. Tria is not a place to get really drunk or to pick up other drunk people - it's much preferable to go there with people you're already friends with, and who want to try something different for a change.

This counter at Reading Terminal Market is fantastic. They carry a large variety of artisanal cheeses, as well as a huge variety of French, Italian, and Spanish cheeses. They always have five to ten cheese specials if you buy more than a pound; Brie and Manchego are often included in these specials. This place gets a lot of business, so the cheeses are fresh. Highly recommended!

It has been a while since they won a "Best of Philly" award, but that does not mean that they have changed a thing. The hoagies are piled high with fresh meats and cheeses, roasted peppers and special sauce( like a creamy Caesar dressing) all on a great Philly roll. They have many delicious sides for non hoagie eaters as well. Wait in line and find a table in the center of the market. You will rediscover why they won this coveted award.

Caffe Casta Diva is one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. The food is consistently delicious! One of my favorites is the chicken with capers and lemon--simple, elegant and just divine. My friend usually offers whatever steak option is available, and she claims the beef just melts in her mouth (I’ve tasted it too, and it’s true!). The owner and chef, Steve, puts thought and care into each dish. Sometimes he comes out and chats with the customers, which is a very nice touch. He also uses grass-fed and/or organic meats. The space is intimate without being crowded, and would be a good place for a romantic date. Very affordable too! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Without a doubt my favorite Mexican restaurant in Philly. Cozy but not crowded with a menu that's a joy just to read while working on a large bowl of fresh tortilla chips and a perfectly piquant salsa.
The shrimp ceviche seems expensive compared to the other appetizers, but is well worth if for the large (very shareable) portion. Next, proceed directly to the mole dishes. Return requently.
PS: Brunch is great, too!

This award winning restaurant is on the world’s largest four-masted sailing ship. The renovated ship hosts a dining room, several private dining rooms, and a bar and deck. The food is absolutely sumptuous. It is mostly American cuisine, but made with the finest ingredients and culinary skills! Not just your usual home cooking! The décor is nicely decorated and private. The service was excellent. They could not do enough for us. It is extremely pricey but worth going to at least once in your life. And make sure you leave room for dessert…they are to die for!
