The 52nd & Chestnut one's got tight security (they take all your stuff when you enter and give it back later). The store is HUGE and significantly different from the one on 40th st. No hippy food and a much better layout.

I have heard from friends who lived in the neighborhood before the arrival of Fresh Grover that this is a great improvement over what was there before. Others have complained to me that it is too expensive and not well kept. I found that I was able to keep my kitchen stocked pretty well with staples and feed myself sufficiently with under $100 a month, cooking everything from scratch. There is a nice slection of some things like cheeses. Also, there are good sales every week -- check the circular.

A passable grocery store. It tends to be extremely crowded, and the lines are very long, though they move decently quickly. Unfortunately, the cashiers are not very friendly; mostly they seem like they would be as happy if you fell over dead as had a nice day.
They have a small but useful international selection, and a random assortment of cheese.

this place, commonly known as frogro is located right on 40th st. it is right on upenn's campus. all the students go there for their grocery needs. given that this place is right on campus, it will be a little overpriced. but who will be willing to walk several miles to and back from campus just to buy some groceries?
