The Philadelphia Museum of Art is at the end of the Ben Frankling Parkway and makes a scenic view from the road as you drive into Philly. It is also the end of the annual holiday parade and a number of concerts and movies have taken place near or on its historic steps. The art inside is wonderful and diverse. They rotate special exhibits on a regular basis. Entry is reasonable and parking is not too bad, though the bus goes here as well.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is directly at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at teh top of a hill surrounded by the stairs on which the movie Rocky was filmed. The art collection itself is excellent and varied. They frequently have special exhibits come to rotate through the hall. The museum's architecture is also noteworthy and the museum is definitely worth a trip when you are in the city.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is a great place to go but you need to make sure that you leave yourself enough time to look at everything. It also can be very crowded, especially with the current Dali exhibit. Tickets to the Dali exhibit are currently sold out but I would check the website or call just in case they issue more. General admission tickets do not need to be purchased in advance but can be, and the admission prices are reasonable. Also, there are several cafes and a restaurant inside the museum in case you get hungry.

The many galleries change often but there are several that are mainstays. See the Modern Era, the Romance Era, and more. Recently they housed the world renown Salvador Dali exhibit, the first and only time it has been exhibited in the United States. Take a day off and explore the vast treasures of this museum!

Philadelphia Museum of Art was the background for the 2005 Live 8 concert. The road leading to this museum was filled with concert goers who came from all over the USA. Inside this museum you can find a good collection of art and artifacts from the past. The best part of the museum is the walk in the back of the Museum, you can see the famous Row boat houses that light up in the evening, Fairmount Park and the Zoo balloon where you can get a nice view of the City. The front of the museum you can look down Ben Franklin parkway which leads to the fountain and you will also be able to see the main library of Philadelphia to your left, which is around 7 blocks away from the museum. It's a nice place to take a picture of the Philadelphia Skyline. Inside the museum you can take hours or even days to enjoy the exhibits.

The Art Museum is a wonderful place to visit. They have top notch exhibits and the artwork is amazing. There is so much to see and take in here that you could easily get overwhelmed. The staff is friendly and is always willing to answer any questions you may have about pieces and such. A great place!
