I was really offended that the museum felt it was acceptable to provide visitors to the Star Wars Exhibit's final weekend a 'leftover' experience. While the exhibit itself was as everyone else enjoyed it during its time in Philly, the Star Wars shop was utterly pathetic. The museum WANTED to sell out of everything. Meaning, those of us paying to visit and traveling to visit during the exhibit's final weekend do not get the same experience that those who went early on received. My four year old son was really looking forward to this aspect of the exhibit and because the museum was more concerned with itself than its guests, all he got to see in the shop were a few random pet costumes. We were NOT pleased at all and recommend to anyone wanting the whole experience NOT to go to the museum during an exhibit's final days.

The Franklin Institute was an interesting visit in Philadelphia. I've been there a few times and the special exhibits are always terrific. The standing exhibits though are old and half of the interactive things don't work. The staff is good and helpful but sometimes over whelmed. If you go, do try the bike ride over the lobby on a tightrope. It was scary but fun!

The Franklin institute is one of the few places that parents and kids can enjoy at the same time. They have wonderful exhibits with some of them requiring hands on interaction. This allows the kids to play with certain objects and keeps them involved. I visited the body show earlier this year and it was absolutely wonderful. Its a great way to spend the day with the family.

One of the coolest hands-on museum you'll ever witness. Fun for everyone. It is huge and educational. You will learn a good amount of science upon completion. This is the Liberty Science Center (Jersey City, NJ) times two. They also had the BodyWorlds going on at that time, which tells me that they have travelling exhibits that come around every so often. They also have an IMAX.

kids and adults of all ages can enjoy a whole day of events and experiences here. there are many different theaters and attractions. one room has a real live locomotive that actually moves every so slowley on a railroad. the kids love it! they have a planetarium with a wrap around screen that plays lazer light shows. even late at night. incredible experience. there is a cafe in the front of the building or you can purchase food and beverage inside but it is expensive. packages are available and more worth the money. you get more out of it that way. PROS: CONS: parking is expensive

The Franklin Institute is a wonderful museum. It has lots of hands-on exhibits that stimulate the mind and the imagination. I particularly enjoyed the giant heart, which educates the young and the old about heart health through a walk-through heart. Very fun! I also liked the sports science exhibit. Great information and lots of fun, but you'd need a few days to really enjoy it properly!

It is very much a hands on museum, as kids can play with a penduleum, floating beach ball and irrigation in the sand. They also have special exhibits that pass through, which are usually very fun. They also have an omniverse theater with a few different shows optimizing the effects of the theater.
