1) advertised massage and foot soak. soaking was not part of the experience. made it seem like a deal to get both when foot component involved rubbing feet with some foot scrub for about 5 minutes. could get better reflexology at your average nail salon.
2)mix up with my massage therapist. was worked on by someone that i was not assigned and that was recommended to me. too late to rectify the situation - that person was booked up for the rest of the day.
3) conversations could be heard during the massage. nothing like letting it all melt away and then hearing people talking and laughing in the background. i shouldn't have to go into a meditative state just to block out the background noise during my massage. that is just basic.
4) couples massage room, tables are not even side by side. they are diagonal so it is impossible to really look at or reach out to your lover. obviously a space/cost issue but very annoying.
5) uneven service. so during our couples massage, my therapist (who was not even supposed to be assigned to me) was obviously right out of school. she was very nice, but was whispering to the other therapist, did not maintain physical contact with me, and overall did not communicate with me very much. my partner's therapist on the other hand started out by asking him if he had any trouble spots or anything she should focus on. the difference, with us being in the same room together, was maddening!
6) dessert - a yogurtini?? yogurt with granola? give me a break. this is a couples massage it is supposed to be romantic, at least some chocolate mousse or something!! i mean, this is not supposed to be some kind of discount place, right? I paid a lot of money for this. . . .
never again!!
Pros: massage wasn't bad
Cons: everything else

I have been dealing with Total Serenity for approximately 2 years. Every time I go is better than the time before. My most recent experience was on Friday November 6th and it was absolutely amazing. Previously that week my sister and I ran into some scheduling issues and I called on Thursday to get them straightened out, the manager, Kita(sp), was helpful and resolved my issue quickly. From the minute we walked in we felt welcomed. My services were excellent and the staff was friendly, not that fake customer service friendly, but genuinely nice people. We spent more than four hours at the spa and a lot of that was just talking to the staff. I am excited about all of the coming attractions(you will have to visit to find out what they are) and am looking forward to Black Friday when they will have some awesome specials. I have experienced a few other spas in this area and Total Serenity is by far the best, I am a customer for LIFE!
Pros: Conveniently located, awesome staff and a great atmosphere
Cons: NONE

From the time I walked in the door the girl at the desk had a nasty attitude and left me standing from outside the place was a Total mess everything was filthy the floors the sheets on the beds are totally disgusting, filled with stains and dirt and that was not the worst part of my visit grossest thing was a roach in my gourmet salad, which i discovered after having eaten some of it. Yes a ROACH in a day spa. Total Serenity is a TOTAL MESS. Do yourself a favor and spend your hard earned money else where Avoid at all cost I wrote this after having gone to my lawyer first for the roach incident for such a traumatizing day. Guess what it was my Birthday. 1 that I will never ever forget.
Pros: There are none
Cons: Everything

First I walked in and said 'hi' to the girl behind the reception counter and smiled at her. She said nothing back. Weird right!?
And secondly, this place is kind of gross. The facility is totally outdated. For example, the drop-in ceiling tiles -- nothing serene about those! The meditation room was just kinda grubby. I wanted to get outta there asap. It was really dark in there, but not dark enough to cover up the grungy state of the walls, floor, sofas, and ceiling tiles. It just felt icky.
Even the Web site is amateurish - I can see by the poor grammar and misspellings that they do not pay professionals to do their communications materials (or if they do, they should hire new ones!)
I normally go to the Aveda salon Art+Science for massages, where everything is totally clean and modern. I'll stick with that from now on.
And PS anyone who gives this place 5 stars must either work here, be a friend of someone who works here, or has never been to a nice clean spa in their life. I won't be returning.
Pros: massage was pretty good
Cons: everything else

STAFF, STAFF, STAFF. Cannot say more about the staff. I was given a gift certificate from my son-in-law for my birthday almost 4 years ago and have been going ever since. I was given my first wax by Marlena and walked away feeling great and in no pain. Now, I have the honor of her sister, Mariana, and greatness must run in the family. She is always pleasant, extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend her for your 1st wax or your 10th wax. Bravo to Total Serenity.
Pros: Friendly atmosphere, now has free parking

The first time I visited Total Serenity was over 2 years ago as a birthday treat. My experience then was great and when I visited recently it was equally as enjoyable. The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and patient with customers that have a lot of questions (like me!). I have recommended TS on numerous occasions and will continue to do so.

I have been going to Total Serenity for about two years now, and I absolutely love it. The Staff is great especially Luis his hands are truly a gift from God. From the front desk check-in to the check-out I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this spa. I recently had the pleasure of having an aromatheraphy deep tissue massage and was delighted. I have decided to make this a monthly ritual--for my own sanity. I am a busy wife and mother of three and Total Serenity is my getaway.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Tranquil Surroundings
Cons: Not enough parking

For Valentine's Day, I was treated to a Spa experience. This was my first and I must say - it was delightful! My contacts with the staff from booking to end were very pleasant and professional. I arrived early and was greeted warmly - not only by the wonderful aromas in the air inside Total Serenity, but also by the worker's smiles and greetings. I was promptly addressed, assisted, directed and the experience had begun before I even knew it. The meditation room was just great (soft music, low lighting, and a water fall to help sooth and relax). Soon thereafter, my tech led me down a beautiful hallway with ceiling lined sheets, that reflected softness - more relaxing ambience. The actual massage room was heated comfortably, had soft lighting, and the prettiest music playing that I've ever heard. Instructions were given by this professional tech and my comfort and privacy were # 1. Let me just say, the experience was absolutely wonderful. And, I can't wait to go again.
Pros: Warmth and Professionalism of Staff; Ambience; Cost; on a SEPTA Route in Center City
Cons: Entrance could be identified a little better

Clearly one of the Best of the Best!
I started my search of looking for a local spa in the Delaware Valley that will allow me to relax, recharge and renew, I found it at Total Serenity! While I have a personal massage therapist that actually makes housecalls, the search was on for a fabulous body treatment and facial. After visiting Body Restoration (which provides a great facial)and Belliard's in Cherry Hill, I knew I had to get back to Total Serenity. My esthetician, Marijana Smajic gives an amazing facial! She also provided a mud wrap to die for...Can't wait for my next visit.
While the ambience was a bit less than I expected for the price point, I quickly got past it with the fabulous services.

Pros: Marijana, convenient location

I have been getting my wax done by Marlena for quite some time now, and I must say, she is great at what she does. When i got my wax for the first time, I thought I would be in excruciating pain, but to my surprise, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Marlena is very personable and talks to you as if she's known you for years. She is always pleasant and makes every wax more inviting. I would definitely recommend her for waxing whether it's your first or 15th time. She also makes you feel very comfortable and cared for. Marlena's the best.
Pros: Great waxing service, serene atmosphere, professional environment
Cons: sometimes it's hard to find parking
