I've gone several times for repairs/oil change and found the staff helpful and courteous. On one occasion, when a problem arose w/ the car soon after I'd been there, they then made a repair free of charge as a gesture of good faith and thanks for my business. Such honesty and customer care is rare in autoshops, from my experience!

I've been taking my BMW to REDs for years, any repairs, state inspections, maintenance, and have found them to be very profesional. They may not be the cheapest around but much better than the dealer. Customer service is great, they often find ways too fit my car in on last minute appoinments and get it back to me in a timely manor. I have recommended all my friends and family to REDs, and no complaints. Anybody with a foreign car should call Reds and son.

so i take my baby to reds and sons b/c my brakes were feeling a bit soft. mind you, the brakes had just been looked at top to bottom and had necessary brake lines replaced. i checked the brake fluid before taking it there but did so in the dark so i didn't see that there was a secondary reservoir that was empty. so anyway, i take it there...it was painfully obvious that they didn't even take anything apart b/c they hadn't even emptied the brake fluid. they told me that i needed a brand new master cylinder, new brakes completely, and even a 117 dollar hazard switch straight from Germany. When I questioned them about these things (mind you I'm a young woman, therefore stupid in their eyes) they came up with a whole list of ridiculous reasons. so i decided that i just wanted to take my car and leave...i asked them if they at least filled up the brake fluid for me (i better atleast get some break fluid considering they charged me $128 for nothing) and they said no but that they could...i said thank you, that would be great...fill up the brake fluid and TADA! brakes like new...imagine that...like i said before and i'll say it again, hustlers. don't take your car there ever. my car would have to be on fire and directly next to reds and son's hose to take it there again. Pros: none Cons: everything

My car passed, and they explained everything that they did. i had questions in general about my car, and they were more than happy to go through it with me. i was very pleased with the service here. i will continue to bring my car here for future needs Pros: great service, helpful, didn't try to sell me on anything

My car came with me to school and was registered in another state. I needed an emissions test done in compliance with my home state's regulations, and called around to find the best price. I named the exact tests I needed done (not the standard PA tests), and Red's had the lowest prices nearby, so I took my car in. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the place or the friendliness of the staff, but was shocked when it came time to pay, and was handed a bill for more than twice what I was quoted on the phone for the same tests. When I asked, the guy who was ripping me off told me that this is the cost of the tests, the guy on the phone was wrong, and there was nothing he could do. Then I saw the small sign on the wall indicating that phone estimates are not binding, so I wonder how many other people have had this problem. Every other place I've ever called for a price on a specific service (oil change, alignment, bulb replacement, whatever) gives me the price for that specific service and they've been right... it's not an estimate, it's just the price of that specific service. I just had four digits of work done on my car to diagnose some problems (not a fixed-price service job), but even then, the estimate was within $100 of the final cost. When you're offering a specific service, like a specific emissions test, it's just shady business to lie about the cost of that service on the phone and then mark the cost up more than 200% in person.

After having been to several auto repair places, I started using Reds. Unlike most other places, the customer service was great and they didn't talk down to me. So many places look at you as if you are an idiot if you don't know everything about cars. They return calls when they say they will and have always been very professional. Their rates are on par with other shops and the location is convenient.

I have used this auto repair shop multiple times for my two vehicles and have always been impressed by the high quality of the workmanship, extremely quick turn around times, abiltiy to take last minute appointments and considerate and friendly customer service. At each time that I had a repair done, the manager or owner( I am not sure which), Gus was able to give me an estimate that was accurate almost to the penny. On one occasion I had a question that pertained to a loose hose that I thought might be an indication of something seriously wrong and perhaps unsafe. The staff at Reds stayed open late while they waited for me to come in and once I arrived, verified that it was nothing to worry about. All of this was done free of charge. At the time of this writing, none of the repairs that have been performed on my two aging vehicles has needed additional work. Pros: accurate estimates, good customer service, FAST and expert repairs Cons: Not a lot of car storage - vehicles need to be picked up a day or two after repair
