I love the zoo. I really like the Philadelphia Zoo too. It's the oldest in the country, and while most of it has been redone several times, you can tell that it's not a new zoo because some of the habitats are much smaller that what you would find at the San Diego zoo or another huge zoo. The animals seem well cared for and that's what's important. Parking is expensive and often a good hike away. You can get there by public transit, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're not familiar with the different routes. And, if you have some extra cash, definitely go up in the Zoo Balloon, It's a blast and offers great views of the city.

The City Food Tour is an awesome day filled with food knowledge, laughter with friends and facts about the city we walk in everyday and do not realize how amazing it really is. Take a few hours with friends or by yourself and learn about cheese, beer, wine and chocolate...does it get much better than that...I didn't think so either, but it does, because the guides are great too!

the Haunted prison is still scarey despite the long lines. I know that to get that many people thru quickly you must be 'herded' thru quickly... it would have been nice to be able to go a little slower and be able to actually see the effects. despite people in front of you screaming first, it's still scarey to have someone pop out at you, you don't know when it's coming.... 30.00 is a lot, but it was totally worth it. I have also been there in the daytime and don't remember being allowed in the laundry and kitchen area like we were on the night of the haunted prison. I would recommend going to anyone that likes haunted houses... even if it was pouring down rain it was still great....

I was strictly a NYC girl. My best friend kept raving about Walnut street theatre in Philly. I did give it a chance - impressed is not enough of a compliment!!! The show was incredible= the costumes, the set designs. We had great seats. Beauty and the Beast - the transformation into the prince- how did that happen right before my eyes?!!! Everybody - check it out - go in for a show here - you have a wide variety of restaurants to do dinner too.........the only thing was - the parking lot is not big enough ..........but since the show was sooo good - i didn't mind!!

I recently visited here with toddlers and managed to keep them there for nigh on three hours -- anybody who has toddlers know that's a miracle! The different floors made it exciting and they LOVED "Inside Out" which was the special children's section; they got to pet a snake, lizard, rabbit, and tortoise and couldn't stop talking about the bees! There was an accessible elevator for the stroller, and a lunchroom where you could buy, or bring food to eat. For adults, they have very informative plaques on the animals and explorers.
Pros: Fun for kids
Cons: Bathrooms were tricky to get into with stroller

The Philadelphia Zoo is a world-class zoo! It's so large and has so many different types of animals it is everything you could want in a zoo. The admission price is high, but it's worth it. You will also need to pay to park. A zoo membership is an option that a lot of my friends who have frequent out-of-town guests take advantage of. With a zoo membership you can bring 2 guests each time and the parking fee is waived.
The new exhibits for the monkeys are terrific and interesting. Also there is an indoor children's area that is a great option when the weather is not so great.

If the city and thre Unions don't get together, the to be built Center in Pennsauken, NJ will take their business. It's time the city stood up to the unions and get this place working. It's a beautiful place, easty to get to and located in a great city but the unions are killing the business.
Pros: easy to get to, good lighting
Cons: unions, earlier starting time

Attended the Terror Behind the Walls attraction this past weekend. Overall, it was a good time but highly overated. The website is a little misleading since it portrays the haunted facility as this very large "11 acre" structure. In fact the building is probably 11 acres but visitors are restricted to a very small portion of that area. most of the area is used in the daytime for touring the prison not the haunted tour
Pros: Good for the family. Very Convenient
Cons: Too short and too small
