I have been seeing Dr. Carr for over 7 years and I hope to be treated by him for as long as he’s around. Dr. Carr has helped me through many physical/emotional hurdles through the years and I am so grateful to him for being such a wonderful human being and friend. He always goes above and beyond anyone’s expectations. Dr. Carr has such a passion for life and helping others it's wonderful to just be around him; his exuberance for life is contagious. If you are looking for a new chiropractor or have never gone to one before and would like to see if it could help you Dr. Carr is who you need to see.

Pros: Best Chiropractic office in WA!

It's an old story. Liquor and a friend who needed to move in a big hurry screwed up my lower back permanently. Dr. Devine restored it to great working condition. I was especially impressed by how Dr. Devine kept up with my progress and modified his approach over time. He taught me a number of stretching and strength-building exercises that I do semi-faithfully, and my back has improved to the point that I'm training for this year?s Jingle Bell Run. A year ago, that would have been unimaginable.
Finding a great chiropractor or massage therapist is like prospecting for gold in the desert, but here you can find both.
The service is wonderful! So far, I've had the pleasure of working with the two different massage therapists, Stephanie and Tyler, (I consider them artists, sculpting an undulating medium of pain and grotesque misalignment into a serene placid plane, sort of like deconstructing the gates of hell into a sunny meadow somewhere in the Alps).
And yes, let me discuss the massages a bit more. The facilities are clean and lovely. I have fallen asleep on the table, lulled into peaceful bliss by the masseuse's expert wrangling of trigger points. I'm not someone who can easily relax, so it's saying something that I can happily let go for an hour and allow a healing of hands, so to speak.
Best thing I ever did for myself! You will not regret a visit or 20.
Pros: Best adjustment and massage in town.

I've been having chiropractic treatments for more than 50 years. Lincoln Kamell is one of the best I have been treated by anywhere in the country and I've lived in Detroit, Chicago, California and here in Seattle and been treated in all of them. We travel a lot; I try to have an adjustment right after returning from a trip. The close quarters in coach make for tight shoulders and lower back. Five Star!

I broke my pelvis when my horse reared and went over backward. After 10 weeks in a wheelchair, I had to learn to stand and walk all over again. My muscles had atrophied, and I had no balance. Ms. Machtley and Dzuka Lin designed a plan that got me back walking and re-built my balance. They are terrific! Very calm and soothing yet tough. The exercises and stretches they taught me will stand me in good stead for the rest of my life. I'm incredibly grateful to them!
Pros: Ms. Machtley and Dzuka Lin taught me how to walk again.
Cons: none

If you're looking for a massage therapist and feeling overwhelmed by all the choices, you can stop your search and call Luata. Don't look anywhere else. Seriously. In the past, I've had some good, even some great, massages, but Luata is the only person I've found who combines amazing, genuine healing personality with an outstanding knowledge of physiology. I found her web page because I specifically wanted an orthopedic massage. I tend to have little patience with massages that are entirely woo-woo and New Agey and all about "channelling energetics" and so on. I need some science behind my massage. And Luata has it in buckets. But.... she also does the spiritual thing. And it doesn't feel put-on. I'm the kind of person who never thought I would use words like "healing energy" in a sentence. But Luata is a life force, a true healer, a big soul who melts the most sceptical hearts. And knows her stuff better than many ortho MDs.
Pros: Gentle healing energy. Incredible professional knowledge.
Cons: None at all.

Can't say enough about the quality of care and expertise that these two clinics (W Seattle & Highline) offer. I have several high end orhopedic and internal medicine physicians who speak highly of the opthomologists at this office. Dr Mulligan (and his colleagues), has been an ethical physician who will only suggest a procedure when truly needed. For example he would not perform lasik on me as he felt that it would not be in my best interests when others outside of these two clinics have suggested otherwise!
The staff is friendly, efficient, and courteous. After seeing the couple of low reviews i felt i had to take the time and set real expectations. I feel it is not a ripoff as one reviewer stated due to a missed appt. cjarge. $50 is very inexpensive considering the time taken out of a physician day when you do not have the common courtesy or responsibilty to call prior to an appt (especially when set by the reviewer him/herself) The optical dept have some of the most friendly and effecient staff around. Mark and his colleagues are 1st rate and very business like, so not a lof time is wasted. I have also seen them take the extra time and care with some of the elderly patients who sometimes need a little extra. I have to agree with the large majority of reviewers that this is indeed a five star clinic.
Hope this helps!
Pros: World class MD's. Friendly, efficient staff
Cons: None what so ever!

MM has an outstanding produce section -- sourced with local, organic fruit and vegetables. Excellent bulk food and specialty food sections with nearly all organic/natural selections.
Hate to say it, but Whole Foods is now too corporate with their own brand of non-organic items -- and so much of their produce is conventionally grown.
I've been a member for 7 years now, and it's worth supporting your local co-op.

The people at NE Veterinary are amazing. My dog developed a spine problem several months ago and Dr. Amy Ward did everything she could to help her get better. When she got too ill to walk or stand anymore, Dr. Ward came to my house on a Friday night so she could die in peace at home instead of in the office. When it was all over she, gave me a big hug. How many vets would do that? I highly recommend NE Veterinary and Dr. Ward.

Dr. Blackham is absolutely terrific! He was willing to submit to my very scrutinizing interview and answer all my questions. I worked in health care for 11 years and had had an extremely bad vaginal delivery the first time, which required a c-section for the second time around. So, I grilled him with questions and had several things I wanted to have a say in that are not "standard" procedures during pregnancy and c-sections delivery. Dr. Blackham was completely respectful of my medical knowledge and personal wishes derived from experience. I had interviewed other OB's who were extremely offended by my candor and desire to be a "partner" in my health care. Dr. Blackham was completely the opposite. He went to work doing all he could to facilitate my wishes (none that would compromise my or our baby's health, of course!). He was also willing to research a little used treatment for my pregnancy condition, Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which I could not get other OB's to even look at. We tried the treatment with a conservative approach and it saved me from being hospitalized and spending my entire pregnancy just trying to survive (literally!). It saved my family from not having a mom (functionally anyway, as I was a lump on the floor on IV's and home health care). His office is small and not fancy, but comfortable and puts me at ease. I love the fact that he is not rushing patients through and cares about your comfort and modesty as a woman. His wife sews "moo-moo's" and real cloth cover-ups so you don't have to fight paper gowns, feel exposed to the world and cold. His receptionists have been wonderful to me. Dr. Blackham called me back on nights and weekends when I was so sick (before the treatment could be used) and has never made me feel rushed or like I was disturbing him. He is the perfect combination of extremely professional and knowledgeable along with being truly caring, respectful, and willing to "think outside the box" to provide excellent care for his patients. Dr. Blackham is the best!
