This place is located near Old Town Pasadena and has the best cars ever. I've enjoyed driving by and giving dazed looks at the Porsche Carrera GT which is now sold. They also have the Audi R8 in one of the show rooms. The dealership has Audis, Rolls, Bentlys, Porsches, and Jaguars.

I can't believe how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are. Without pressure, a mechanic will honestly tell me the problem with my car, give me a fair (cheaper than most all auto shops I have ever visited) estimate, and honestly tell me the amount of time I have to fix the problem- whether or not I have the repair done at their shop! I have had my brakes changed at this auto shop before and I can honestly say that they have used only the top of the line brake pads- Volvo S40 OEM. I know- I checked it out! As a chick, I trust this place. Also, check out the bathrooms- clouds everywhere. They incorporate the island theme through-out the entire shop- the fresh pastries and Kona coffee in the waiting room is to die for! I think the owner is Hawaiian or something.
PROS: friendly staff, OEM products, fast reliable service, clean bathrooms,
CONS: kona coffee is sometimes cold

Everyone always says, stay away from the dealer, they are too expensive. I was put into a situation whewe I was stuck into useing a local dealer. Well, let me be brief, with the experience that I had at Thorson's, I WILL NEVER AGAIN use an independant dealer. The product knowlege that these people have is awe-inspiring. The mechanic that was working on my truck took the time to show me just what was wrong with my brakes, and then went on th repair, not only my origional complaint, but managed to fix a few other minor glitches that were caused by other repairs AT NO EXTRA charge to me. My G.M. Dealer WILL BE my only source for my automotive needs.
PROS: Excellent Product Knowlege

I've been going here for over 10 years. They always take care of me and my family. Their prices on tires and brakes destroy the local chain and franchise tire shops. Just bought a set of new tires 2 weeks ago and got an amazing deal. If your in or around Pasadena this is the place to go.

This is a reliable place to get body work done on your car. Their prices are reasonable, and they are often approved by insurance companies. They can get booked up, so you might have to wait to get your car in for service, but the wait is definitely worth it -- great quality work.

This auto store is so great. They really take the time to explain and try and help you with all your automobile needs. They don't try and sell you special unnecessary add ons either. I am always very happy to shop at this store. Forget Pep boys! This store is awesome.
PROS: Helpful!
CONS: Tiny tiny store and if they don't stock what you need it may have to be special ordered. Sometimes it takes 2 visits.

I like Pep Boys for basic parts - air filters, headlights, car wash, etc. I don't exactly go there for my brake pads and that sort of thing, but it's a cheap place to get the cheap and often replaced parts. I find that the employees usually aren't all that useful, so I don't really bother asking them for help. The prices are pretty cheap. It's not exactly the cleanest store in town.

After reading a review of this establishment, I took my car in and was just thrilled. They were prompt, thorough and very reasonable. I was able to save myself a trip to the dealership in Van Nuys after their diagnosis. It hardly cost me more than the gas would have to get their opinion. And, silly though it may seem, I really liked the waiting room. My kids were able to sit and have a drink of water- very pleasant compared to some places we've been over the years.

Every time I go for auto service, the service writers are quick to listen and suggest more service that I want. They never do oil changes while you wait and they always say they are short handed that day. Luckily I have a second car to drive. Recently, I had warranty work done, and it took a week. No apology and I was given a dirty car back.
PROS: I can take the light rail home.
CONS: Expensiveand impersonal
