We love their ice creams and we also love the size of their scoops. They have a small scoop for kids. I love their ginger ice cream. Though its quite a drive for us, it is worth every mile.

As long as a shop uses quality ingredients, I think flavor selection is totally subjective and hard to rank. Rick's definitely has smooth ice creams and a good mix of basic flavors and some very interesting ones too, but I found that nothing FLOORED me, though my boyfriend LOVED the Industrial Chocolate. Good basics (Chocolate, Coffee, Raspberry, Vanilla Bean) and more exotic (Kulfi, White chocolate w/ Ginger, Georgia Peach). All smooth and delicious, Rick's is definitely the choice as your local ice cream joint w/ some style but nothing worth driving great distances for so I am the search continues for my favorite killer chocolate and killer coffee flavor mixes, flavors worth driving out for. Pros: quality, flavor choices

What a great ice cream store! I've been a fan of this store for 20 years, and my fascination hasn't diminished. The ice creams are decadent, flavorful...so good! Many exotic flavors too (my favorite is Computer Chip). The cones require quick work, because of the natural ingredients. Otherwise, they melt all over you. Oh, what a problem to have on a hot day. Only downside of this shop is the limited seating. I've found that a good alternative is a stroll with my cone over to Cubberley Community Center. In fact, it's proximity to the playing fields makes this a great place to bring sports teams for post-game celebrations.

Rick's Rather Rich ice cream shop is such a treat for adults and children alike. Their friendly staff and unique flavors makes the entire experience worthwhile. They even offer a less-expensive mini size and allow you to get two flavors! I wish that they had a little more seating, but you can always wander over to the Piazza picnic tables.
