I went with a friend of mine for a casual dinner. The best samosas I have ever had. I focus on the little things like chutneys and raitas and Chef Sachin Chopra delivered what I have been looking for over 9 years in US now - both were the best by far.
Sure the items on the menu were a bit expensive (Entre: 18-50 I guess), but food quantities were quite generous. We knew we ordered a bit extra, but the left overs laster me for 2 full meals. Our total bill was $87 (plus tip) - not bad huh!!
I haven't tried their non-veg menu yet, but can't wait to go again.... at the very least once....
If you like authentic Indian food, made and served gourmet style and don't mind paying that little extra price, then you have to give this a try. Hope you like it just as much too.

This is the best New Orleans style food I've had outside the South. It's fresh and authentic and has a real blend of flavors: they don't cook stuff until it's all mushed into one flavor; rather, you can taste multiple different subtle (and, depending on the dish, not-so-subtle) flavors in each bite.
It's usually crowded and noisy. The servers are sometimes overworked: they're always on the go and I never see them lazing around, but it's still sometimes hard to get drink refills and so on.
I should make it clear that I'm a certified old fuddy-duddy and like to converse over dinner. For some young single folks the noise might be part of the excitement.
If you're looking for New Orleans-style food, this is the place to go.
Pros: The chef(s) really know how to cook New Orleans style food right.
Cons: The noise, the crowding

I went to lunch at the new St. Michael's Alley on Thursday. It was amazing. The new space has a bar, and casual tables, the colors are warm and inviting. The owners are were there to answered many questions my husband had about the 300 yr. old walnut tree made into the bar and the beautiful farmhouse windows. We started with the Wild Mushroom Cake with creamy garlic herb sauce. Fantastic, I had the Tossed Baby Green Salad with warm walnuts, and warm herb encrusted goat cheese, dried cranberries. The salad was delicious and filling. The cold crisp greens with the warm goat cheese was perfect. My hubby had a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. A bit different than usual with a bacon taste, big clams and potato, very good but different. He followed with a grilled chicken sandwich with prosciutto and fontina cheese on sour dough. Again, a mixture of texture and taste that works. We look forward to dinner next and having drinks on the new patio. Well worth the wait St. Michael's Alley. Good job we will be back with friends.
Pros: Seasonal menu, fresh good food, warm and inviting
Cons: Didn't see any

I took my fiancee here for her 30th birthday with her family and had a wonderful experience. The staff was not only attentive, but kind and knowledgable about the entire menu and provided great recommendations. The only negative was that they were out of the entree special of the evening which sounded tasty. It was our first time to the restaurant and there is no doubt I would return again. The ambiance was nice, it wasn't too loud and again the food was absolutely wonderful.
Pros: food, food, food
Cons: none come to mind

The pizzas at this Palo Alto CPK branch are probably the best-tasting of all CPKs that I've been to in the country and probably worldwide. My favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza and they always seem to get the thin crust baked to perfection. Personally, I am not so fond of their pasta creations, having tasted better, but their pizzas are unbeatable. The pizzas are quite expensive as it's $11 for a personal size pizza. Parking can be a major issue on Friday evenings or Weekends at this CPK.
PROS: Good pizzas
CONS: parking can be an issue at dinnertime

Ambience! The Empire Tap Room is set up wonderfully! The outside dining area is a cozy patio, while the inside has a long bar and large booths. Thus, you can dine in a romantic or relaxed atmosphere.
The service is excellent. Very friendly.
The food is the only negative at Empire. It is not bad, just rather pedestrian. The menu is fairly broad, but unspectacular. I had the herb chicken, which was a little dry but otherwise okay. The selection of wines and beers on tap is pretty ho-hum. Overall, it is an average to above-average destination.
Pros: Ambience, friendly, well-decorated
Cons: average food, unimaginitive

First of all the food was horrid... but the entire experience was hugely disappointing. When my 75 yr old father and I arrived this cold winter evening, they tried to seat us at the counter facing out the window when 50%+ of the tables were open. Nice try, but not going to happen. The menu descriptions are sorely lacking. My father's tacos were fiery hot and almost inedible. My burger was dry and completely without flavor. The servers had no concept of condiments and took 20 minutes to find salt and pepper for us. A complete waste of time and money.
