The lamb chops at this place are so fantastic that it is a reason to go by itself. However, I go for the great ambiance. It is open till 11pm, which is definitely not the norm in Palo Alto. The service is satisfactory, though often overly obsequious.

This is my favorite restaurant in Palo Alto. They have a great menu that changes continually to highlight seasonal items. Preparations are fresh, creative and tasty. The ambience is wonderful and integrates a romantic sensibility with a noisy energy, giving the place a buzzing vibe. The wine list is awesome -- with rare finds and wonderful treats -- but also pricey. Wait staff is great --- warm, personable and highly knowledgable.

We were at Lavanda for a first time and we had a great time.
Had some wine at the bar, great wine list by the way.
Bartender was great, made some great suggestions.
Place was happening.
We got seated shortly.
Service was perfect, timing was good and food was pure 10.
we got to meet the owners they were wery frendly.
Be back soon.
So happy that we discover Lavanda.
You have to check it out.

med wraps was the first place that i actually loved after coming to palo alto. the prices are quite good and the food is absolutely excellent. if you go with someone else, i recommend getting the combo plate and a meat shawerma plate and sharing them. that way you both get some falafel, dolmas and meat. the turkish coffee is very good also. med wraps is probably the best bang for the buck in all of palo alto.

The wait staff was clearly not Mediterranean and the food was only slightly closer to the claimed source. Come here for mediocre food at Shopping Mall prices with a crowd that screams "It's pretty expensive, so it must be good." Some of the worst Italian in the Palo Alto area.
