It was a nice place to eat. Good sushi especially. The chicken teriyaki had a nice flavor. I would recommend the place to others.

For twenty five years I've enjoyed the hospitality of the Io family at their restaurant called Fuki-Sushi. During my early career in Silicon Valley their much smaller (at the time) Fuki-Sushi was a home away from home, where quality food and ingredients was always the standard. Whether it was simple oyako donburi or a tsukiyaki, the experience was more of a home-cooked meal than that of a restaurant.
It has been with a sense of pride as a customer that I've seen Fuki-Sushi grow as an establishment. They have gorgeously expanded and renovated, with an inviting reception area, an enlarged main dining area and sushi bar, and private tatami rooms with their quiet elegance. More importantly they have maintained the quality of food and service that originated from their simple beginnings.
I've had occasion to host corporate events at this fine establishment, where the Io family has gone out of their way to make my guests comfortable and satiated. Whether a private dinner meeting in a tatami room with a dedicated hostess, to a lively Sushi-and-Sake night, Fuki-Sushi has been a crowd-pleaser. At a special sushi bar, they have even taught my clients and friends how to roll-your-own sushi, quite a memorable experience in making your own spider hand roll!
From this perspective, both as a discriminating diner seeking a fine meal, to someone seeking only the best for a corporate event, I have depended on the Io family for their consistent quality and hospitality. To say that I am biased might be an understatement, but it is a bias based on experience.
Pros: Outstanding sushi, great hospitality
Cons: In life, you pay for quality

I heard so much good things about Fuki Sushi and read good reviews. (Of course, I read bad reviews too, but I did not pay much attention) So, when my husband and I went there for the first time, we had very high anticipation to be served with high quality sushi.
However, our anticipation turned to nightmare! Every single sushi we ordered was terrible. The quality of sushi was really bad, far far from fresh.(Uni was the worst!)
We have never experienced such a bad quality sushi at any other places! Since it was our first time at Fuki Sushi, I cannot say that they 'ALWAYS' serve bad quality sushi.
But, if I'm going to spend $150 or more, I will go to other places! I will not take a chance. Fuki Sushi is way over priced for their low quality sushi!
Lesson learned! - I would pay more attention to bad reviews since those bad reviews can happen to me, just like what happened to me at Fuki Sushi!
Pros: NA
Cons: Low quality sushi

You'll be hard pressed to find another place as good as this. Food is fresh, and they place a lot of emphasis on the quality of the food and preparation. Many Japanese expats (from Japan) eat here - so I think that's a good indicator of the quality. They even offer sushi cooking classes!
Pros: Excellent food!
Cons: On the pricier side, but you get what you pay for.

My wife and I had been patrons of Fuki Sushi for ten years. We will never go back based on our last experience.
On Sept 12 '07, we opened a $60 take-out order and found a dark, short, curly, human hair in one of our rolls. We were disgusted and immediately threw the order in the trash. It was obvious that the piece of hair could only come from one of two areas of a body.
My wife and I eat out a lot and have never had an experience like this. We also rarely complain but do bring things up to management when a need to raise awareness is compelling. And, we have always found recipients of our feedback appreciative.
At first, the manager who received our call was apologetic. Later that evening, she called with skepticism stating that the owner wanted us to go through our trash and send the hair to them. She insisted that the hair could not have come from anyone in their restaurant since she had talked to everyone ? that it must have come from one of their distributors, e.g. the tobiko company. I could not believe my ears and politely said I was extremely disappointed in the way Fuki Sushi was handling this situation (and was flabbergasted that the owner would ask customers to go through trash).
Needless to say, my wife was irritated when I conveyed Fuki's sentiment. Against my wishes, she went through our trash, pulled out the hair, put it in an envelope and sent it to Fuki Sushi.
It is easy to ride a wave of success but, to us, Fuki Sushi is showing its true colors and defining itself by its response to this situation. These types of things happen in restaurants. After some time, I suspect my wife and I would have returned if Fuki Sushi had stuck with their original apology (the manager initially volunteered to remove the charge for the dinner that we did not eat). But after the way they treated us, we no longer call ourselves their customers. By the way, Fuki Sushi opted to charge us in full anyway.

Maybe the best food I ever had in my life... I have eaten sushi for my entire life; in the bay area, New York and Los Angeles. This place is phenomenal. The nigiri portions are great and the fish are incredibly fresh and tasty. Their spicy rolls (an option on almost every roll they offer) is excellent. Spicy spider is painfully good. On the expensive side, but well worth it. I recommend avoiding the California rolls though, the only thing on the menu not quite 5 stars.
Pros: Food, Ambience, Selection, Service and Specilaty rolls
Cons: None (other than the califronia rolls)

The food is fresh, delicate, and subtle. Sushi rolls are actually a reasonable size, meaning you can fit one in your mouth versus having to take a bite out of one and have it all fall apart. The portions are not so generous given the price and waits can be long even with a reservation.
Pros: Fresh fish
Cons: high prices
