This place was good, but it closed very suddenly a few weeks ago. Nothing has opened in its old spot as of yet.

I went to the Thursday night tasting event with a friend, and it was great! It was fun to be able to taste at the pace you want, how much you want, as well as choose what you want to taste. The small plates of food were all yummy, and went well with the wines! The service was great and the bartenders were very educated on the wines. I highly recommend going to this restaurant, it's a great place to go with a group of friends, family, or a great first date spot!
Pros: Ambiance, Food, Wine

I came into this restaurant relaxed and ready to enjoy some comforting Italian fare on a sunday afternoon. I left frustrated and angry after the experience went from starting fantastic to utterly horrendous and rude.
The server was great and smiley, but she didn't have enough support or training. At some point I actually heard her ask the manager to please help, because she had a full restaurant and no other servers on her side. She was so busy, she didnt even ahve time to do the standard server selling of asking us if we'd like a refill on our drinks. We asked the manager, because we knew the server was slammed servicing the rest of the restuarant, and the manager found herself so inconvenienced by our simple request that she didn't respond to not one, but four attempts at our giving the restaurant a compliment. Yes, I said she was non responsive to direct communication.
I will never visit this restaurant again.
Italians are known for hospitality in addition to great food, this restaurant lacked the most important part - the service.
Food = delicious
Service= nauseating
Pros: food
Cons: rude, slow, service

I have been here a couple times and it has tasted fabulous each time! Not to mention the smells. The wines are 50-50, meaning half the time they are good and satisfactory (given that I am cheap and pick restaurants as great if the cheaper end of the wine-by-the-glass is great) and half the time they are under satisfactory. Probably given the year, and handling of it.
But the food has been wonderful! The service is good and they even tried to accommodate us with providing a previous special we were served there once. That was a great, great pizza instantly devoured. The pizzas are huge and what I would think of for an honest Napolese Pizza--crust to filling, every crunch and chew was on cue. Enjoy!!

This restaurant has nice ambiance with thoughtful decor, but the food and service quality don't match anywhere close to the delightful atmosphere. After the fun, but lame machine wine tasting, we ordered a plate of sauteed vegetable with pizza. The veggies were average, but the pizza it can easily win a crown in the worst restaurant food ever list. The bland crust was soggy and the tomato sauce tasted like out of a cheap can. The topping (olive, artichoke, ham, and mushroom) mustve came from school cafeteria. Its unfortunate that I cant recommend this place to anyone despite of its attractive decor and the name recognition.
Pros: atmosphere
Cons: Food

My husband and I tried this place last night, and the food was so good I almost passed out from pleasure. We had the calimari (amazing! better than Il Fornaio's), caesar salad, pizzetta bianca, pizza margherita, cannoli, and the delicious dessert calzone filled with bananas and nutella. The wine we had was also delicious. Only problem... the wait service is TERRIBLE! 15 minutes to get water and even a *look* from a wait staff. Then when you are eating, they hover over you like vultures, and keep asking if they can take your plates. TO ADD insult to injury... I ate one slice of my pizzetta bianca, asking them to wrap the rest. I open my to go box today to find TWO SMALL slices from an 8 slice pizza. Probably the worst wait service I have experienced ever.
Pros: Food, Wine, Ambiance
Cons: Service, Attitude, Cost

This place is great. Takes me back to Italy. Great Caesar salad (OK, not italian). Great Pizza (Very Italian). I think they changed their dough recently, it's not as crispy and brown as it used to be. But, its still one of the top three pizzas in the bay area. Pastas are good as well. Calamari is good. I have never had anything here that was not excellent. The staff is generally friendly and professional, never had a bad experience with any of them and some of them are really good. We go mostly for lunch as dinner used to get really crowded, havent tried for a while. This isn't gumba style, red sauce everywhere food. If you want that, head to the Olive Garden.
Pros: Food, Service, Pizza!

Yes, it's a beautiful restaurant, in a great location and the wines were good... but the food was terrible, particularly for such a nice restaurant. The pasta sauce was bland and there was nothing very interesting about any of the dishes on the menu.
I would not recommend this restaurant except for a drink.
Pros: Wine
Cons: Food, Price
