I went to lunch at the new St. Michael's Alley on Thursday. It was amazing. The new space has a bar, and casual tables, the colors are warm and inviting. The owners are were there to answered many questions my husband had about the 300 yr. old walnut tree made into the bar and the beautiful farmhouse windows. We started with the Wild Mushroom Cake with creamy garlic herb sauce. Fantastic, I had the Tossed Baby Green Salad with warm walnuts, and warm herb encrusted goat cheese, dried cranberries. The salad was delicious and filling. The cold crisp greens with the warm goat cheese was perfect. My hubby had a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. A bit different than usual with a bacon taste, big clams and potato, very good but different. He followed with a grilled chicken sandwich with prosciutto and fontina cheese on sour dough. Again, a mixture of texture and taste that works. We look forward to dinner next and having drinks on the new patio. Well worth the wait St. Michael's Alley. Good job we will be back with friends.
Pros: Seasonal menu, fresh good food, warm and inviting
Cons: Didn't see any

Truly a landmark spot in Palo Alto. In the middle of Unviersity Avenue, both the exterior and interior represent the Stanford University avenue scene. Great food, service and crowds of students and professionals working, meeting, and chatting. This hotspot uses the AeONsafe secured WiFi, which is faster than AnchorFree and fully encrypted wireless. Since it is secured, I work there more frequently.

I stopped by looking for a place to watch a game and get a bite to eat and was very surprised by my experience here. They had many tap beer options to choose from and the food, by far, exceeded my expectations. I tried the calamari and the ribs and was very impressed the with quality, quantity and price of my dinner. With several flat panels posted throughout the bar, I was able to see 3 or 4 screens from my seat. This is a great place if you are visiting in the wharf area.
Pros: Great bar food and tap beers

I've come to Jamba Juice once in a while to grab a quick, seemingly nutritious 'meal'. This last time I was drawn to it since I was feeling under the weather. In the end, it didn't do me any good. While my wheatgrass and Orange Dream Machine (which I order becuase it always reminds me of Orange Julius) were served promptly, my pizza sticks had been delayed, practically forgotten. I wasn't until I made faces of displeasure that the staff took the hint and remembered that part of my order. I had come at the end of the Palo Alto High School run, not wanting to brave the crowds any earlier. It's something to think about when timing your lunch run. Parking should not be a problem since it's situated in a large shopping plaza.
Pros: Good selection, Filling lunch, Good on-the-go
Cons: Pally Crowd @ noon, Sketchy nutrition, Poor service
