Wonderful little restaurant tucked back in Town and Country. Very nice french pastries and delicious sandwiches- grilled ham and cheese is a favorite. A nice place to meet friends for a lite lunch. Go a little later to avoid the lunch crush from neighboring Palo Alto High school on weekdays.

Just Like France...^
I'm surprised that I've never reviewed La Baguette before, because it's been a 'tradition' in my family for a long time. Whenever one of us goes to Stanford Mall, we always make sure to buy something from here to bring home. They sell coffee, and other beverages, sandwiches, and TONS of yummy French pastries. When one of my parents tell me that they are going to La Baguette, I ALWAYS tell them to get me some eclairs. These are REAL eclairs, guys. Not the crappy American whipped cream filled ones. These are delicious, light, but filling. I also love every kind of tart they have...mixed fruit, strawberry, pear, whatever....
I could go on and on about this place, but to sum this review up, I think that it would be worth your time to come here when you're shopping in Palo Alto. You won't regret it!
Bon Appetit!

Well at least when you notice the food. Set in a nice little patio area, this is the place to be if you are a venture capitalist or mega entrepreneur. They have terrific lunches and dinners. The pasta is fresh and wonderful.
The lemonades are great too. This is one of the few chains that I think really hold up their quality well.

Because if he could, I would eat at the Prolific Oven every day. Not only do they offer an impressive array of cakes but they sell pastries as well. Prices used to be more reasonable but have increased in the last few years. They also offer sndwiches at lunch and a full coffee car. The hot chocolate is TO DIE FOR!

Coupa is a nice little coffee shop in the middle of downtown Palo Alto. This is basically another competator of Starbucks but some people like it better because it is more "personal." I prices are about the same except for the pastries are actually a little pricier (At starbucks you will pay $1.85 for a scone whereas at Coupas its about $2.50.) They also serve single chocolates. You pick out a couple little chocolates with your coffee and then pay a pretty good sum! When I first walked into this place and smelled it, and looked at the menu and the little chocolates I was immedietly reminded of the movie CHOCOLATE. They also had that Mayan spice thing going on and it jsut came back to me. I would definitly recommend this place.
