My husband and I attended this event last night and the assortment of complimentary wines and cheeses brought to us by Dobby's World Wide Liquor in Palatine was amazing! This event is worthy of becoming a tradition; of course, that is dependent upon the continued generosity of Dobby's World Wide Liquor! This is a neighborhood wine store that offers an amazing selection of wine, beer, champagne, cognac and other spirits. They offer free wine and beer tasting parties where they invite wine makers to showcase their wine and talk about it with customers. You could see anywhere from 80 to 150 wines being sampled at each of these tastings. These events always fun, and they draw a large group of people. They also do tastings that are "tailored" for a particular holiday, like beer tasting for 4th of July, Thanksgiving wine tasting, Champagne tasting for New Year, and so on. In December, they have their annual Holiday Wine Tasting Party where they invite local caterers to provide food. This is the great event that have become a tradition. more
